The red TG-630 iHS Digital Camera from Olympus is a "tough" point-and-shoot digital camera with a 12MP sensor, 5x optical zoom lens, a host of assistive features and waterproof, shockproof and freeze-proof capabilities. The 12MP Back Side Illuminated CMOS sensor combined with the powerful TruePic VI Image Processor provide detailed, colorful images and fast performance speeds. Full HD 1080p video capture with a dedicated one-touch button and HDMI output is supported by the TG-630 iHS and high-speed 720p HD recording is possible at 120 frames per second with slow-motion playback.
The Olympus TG-630 iHS is built tough to withstand the elements and the knocks that might otherwise damage a compact camera. It can shoot underwater to a depth of 16' (5 m) and with two protective frames it is shockproof to a drop of 5' (1.5 m). It's able to shoot and maintain all functions in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C) and a protective seal keeps it sand- and dust-proof. Both the lens and the LCD screen have a water-repellent coating so rain and condensation won't fog up your view.
The lens on the TG-630 iHS is a 5x optical zoom that provides the focal length equivalency of 28-140mm in the 35mm format. At 28mm, you have a wide-angle lens that can shoot expansive vistas and inclusive group shots and 140mm is a telephoto length that can magnify distant subjects or shoot creative close-ups. A Super Resolution Zoom function is also available to double that reach if necessary. Dual Image Stabilization offers clearer images by reducing the blurring effects of camera shake when shooting at telephoto lengths and in low light situations. And fast burst shooting is supported at 5fps (frames per second) in full resolution and up to 60fps in lower resolutions.
A 3.0" LCD screen with a water-repellent coating provides composition and playback viewing and numerous assistive features make it easy to get the best shot possible. Intelligent Auto makes all camera adjustments to capture your images with the optimal settings and Scene Modes allow you to match the camera's settings to the scene you are shooting, whether it be Sports, Sunset, Night Portrait. One-touch Panorama is supported and Face Detection recognizes when you are shooting people and optimizes exposure on their faces for sharp, well-lit portraits. Creative Art Filters, such as Watercolor, Fisheye and Miniature are available to add special effects to your images and Beauty Mode lets you smooth out wrinkles, whiten teeth and add make-up touches.
