The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens offers the focal range equivalent of a 29-90mm lens in the 35mm format and is an ideal day-to-day lens with wide-angle to short telephoto capabilities. An Image Stabilization system provides the lens with movement compensation for sharper images when shooting in low light and at longer focal lengths. In addition, the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens with an 88-400mm equivalency offers telephoto and super-telephoto zoom capability for bringing distant objects close. It too utilizes Canon's Image Stabilization technology for clearer imaging at long focal lengths. Both lenses feature optics that minimize aberrations and Super Spectra Coating for minimal flaring and both are designed to match the APS-C-size sensor of the Rebel T3i. Combined, they cover almost all shooting situations.
