The Foscam I8620 Wired H.264 Outdoor IP Camera is an outdoor surveillance camera meant for home or business. It features a 1/4" CCD color sensor in a water and dust resistant housing with remote controlled 10x optical zoom, remote pan, and tilt. The sensor provides color images in daylight, and black and white images at night. The camera captures up to 576 TV lines of resolution, and the unit compresses the video using H.264 compression for streaming over a wired network. It features 360° of pan and 90° tilt. The camera can be controlled by downloadable software (Windows only) or by using a web browser interface, which allows you to remotely view and control the camera from anywhere you have an internet connection using a computer or smart phone.
The I8620 supports three password-protected levels of remote interaction, admin, user and guest, which allows you to let others monitor, while limiting their control. In addition to general motion detection with email notification, ftp upload of images and video recording, the camera features user definable motion detection regions. The user can define up to four areas of the video image to be monitored, and if motion is detected in one of the selected areas the camera can be triggered to send an email notification, upload an image, or start recording video.
The camera supports dual encoding/streaming, which allows you to select two different data rates for the video streams. This allows you to stream a lower resolution image over the internet for remote viewing, while at the same time recording a higher resolution image to a computer connected to the LAN. Admin level users can individually select the display resolution, frame rate, bit rate, key frame interval, bit rate control and image quality for each stream. The camera features auto white balance, backlight compensation and focus, and allows brightness, contrast, saturation are adjustable via the network . The camera mounts to a wall using the included hardware, or it can also be mounted to a ceiling by using available mounting hardware.
