I can talk and talk about that lens... Im using 70-200 f/2.8 in studio and also outdoor pictures, mostly portraits, beach portraits, but not only. Couple weeks ago I used that lens to shot pictures on huge Air Show, I thought that 200mm will be too short and it was little too short but for 800 pictures i took only 12 haven't been focused correctly... incredible fast and perfect focusing system, silent and almost perfect. Lens is working great in f/2.8 there is not soft focus problems u really dont need to lower aperture to take a sharp pictures. There is no problem with aberrations its all about 0.08% for 135mm and over, Great quality of picture fore the center and also edges parts, coma and distortions are minimal and unable to notice actually :) This lens is probably one of the best in Photo History, I didnt notice any problems, pictures are great, You will not waste your money, This is Top Shelf Product for professionals, rolls roys in lenses word... The only bad thing I noticed is weight... Lens is little heavy but thats the price you need to pay for great construction. Some people have problem to choose between 70-200 with IS or without IS, don't take me wrong IS is great bonus for that lens but base on my experience I can say that IS verion of Lens is little too expensive for such a great performance of non IS Version, I had both and maybe Im wrong but Lens without IS looks for me little better when I compare optical aspects. I love that Lens and I`ll recommend to everybody

I was in a dilemma between this and 70-200 F4 IS version but decided to take a chance.Except the fact one step larger than F4 rest of the things are against it.Very heavy, blurry images on hand held.Definitely non IS is a no no unless you have a tripod.Looks Majestic and definitely a head turner and good in low light.I already returned it and order the F4 IS version. Some day will buy the F2.8 IS version.Till then.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
I am a pro photographer and I have been looking for a great lens (already own some Nikon gear which I use mainly for portraits and such)but my Canon gear needed a lens that would be very sharp as I do a ton of scenic/landscape work.
My choice for getting the job done without any issues is the 70-200mm.
A great lens not just for portrait work but super sharp without missing a stop or any of the action as it sports f2.8 regardless of the iso I choose.
It is super fast on the fly for quick focusing and as quiet as can be.
A great lens-nice to be able to say I now own L series lens which I don't have to worry about missing any shots even in low light.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
This lens is the latest addition to my lenes. I always uses Canon 24-107 F4 L IS USM for all multipurpose use. How ever for years I was missing a 2.8 with zoom and here it is....is the best lens I have ever used.
Excellent for shooting indoor or outdoor with low light.
Weighing 3.24 lbs (1470g) and measuring 3.4" x 7.8" (86.2mm x 197mm), the 70-200 IS will not be mistaken for a light or small lens. However, I can carry this lens for long periods of time without feeling it is a burden. This is a weather sealed lens that is ready to take professional use
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens balances out great build quality with excellent image quality. Images are sharp wide open (f/2.8) - corner performance is remarkable even with a Full Frame body. Stopping down to f/4 delivers even sharper results with better contrast

I use this lens as an amature photographer for my brothers sporting events or out in nature and I couldn't be happier with the quality! I use this mounted on a canon t3 rebel and the pictures turn out beautiful. The only bad thing I can really say about this is how heavy it is but hey, gotta buid up some musscle some how! ;)

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
I'm using this lens paired with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera almost exclusively for video (sit-down interviews).
It was for this purpose, in fact, that I avoided the higher cost of the IS version, as IS does not bode well for HD video shot on tripods.
I am extremely pleased with the construction and heft of this lens. Not a lens you'd want to carry around all day, mind you, but a versatile zoom nonetheless.
This lens is very sharp wide open, which is where I like to work.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
Excellent buy. This is my first L lens and it was well worth the wait. The af is blisteringly fast, the images are razor sharp, and the bokeh is really nice. The only con is the size/weight. It's a hefty lens, but the trade off is that it has a durability and sturdiness to it that I've not come across before.
I use it mainly for indoor/sports and outdoor wildlife, but it is quickly becoming my main telephoto. For outdoor sports, I do use a monopod because the weight makes it much more difficult to steady at the longer focal lengths. I was on the fence about getting the IS version, but the non-is suits my needs just fine.

I use it for video mostly so its on tripod all the time and it produce stunning footages. Sharpness and Bokeh are excellent, and build quality is great. This version dont have the IS so if you are taking photos (specially without tripod) you should get the IS version but if you dont have the extra $1000 and you shoot videos this one will be the best choice!

I am a wedding photographer and am very happy with this lens. The images it captures are gorgeous and even though it is very large and possibly hard to hold still, the images are crisp and clean. Whether it's a portrait shot or a scene setter, I am happy with the image quality.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
I use this lens for shooting shows, theater, dance, ballet... Stage pictures! Where are generally dark environments and the subject is on moving. A clear lens is basic necessity in these environments. The lighter the better, but in my case the 2.8f is sufficient. Another positive point is the focus system that it has very quick response.
I really enjoy it! The picture quality is also a difference already found in other canon L series . A show in sharpening!
With this lens 70-200 mm, have more possibilities for positioning within the theaters. However, in my case I have to compose my kit lens with a wide angle, because the maximum angle of it does not allow shooting wide open frames. This is the downside of it in my opinion. Another question to consider is the weight, which can not mess up anything if you use a tripod or a monopod.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
Have only used it for one week but the lens is great in capturing sports action. Not dealing much with stills so the IS was not chosen. Great for capturing little league baseball and basketball action. Color and clarity is a significant improvement over my standard canon lens on my Rebel camera. The len is a bit heavy but the pictures are worth it.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
By far, this is the best Canon lens I have ever owned. I have been mainly a landscape photographer for many years but recently started to move towards studio and sports photography. My other Canon lenses worked pretty good for sports, until it got dark then f/3.5 just didn't give me a high enough shutter speed. Same thing for shooting models in studio or on location. I needed a faster lens. Bring in the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L series. A brilliant piece of equipment and compared to the IS version - SAVE your money and go with this lens. I use a mono or tri pod for most of my shots and have no problems with any of my pictures. Plus the lens is very heavy and you will want that mono pod at least to save your arm strength. Trust me, you will love, love, love this lens. Pictures are from my son's high school Lacrosse game. All photos, crisp clear and taken about 40 yards away. Oh, and....the professional service department at B&H deserves 5 stars as well. I ordered the lens, got it before the delivery date and no problems with packaging.

This lens is amazing in every way! It's got a nice weight to it. I don't think it's unbearably heavy at all. Great quality, great craftsmanship. I use it mostly for video so I didn't need the IS version. Besides if I shoot high speed shutters for photos with this lens I will still get clear, non-blurry shots.

Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens:
I'll start by saying this is my first L series glass and that I'm a photo enthusiast, not a pro.
I was considering the IS version and contacted some Professional Photographers to get their input about the IS vs. Non-IS. The conclusion was if money is no object to go for the IS but if money is important, keep the money saved and use on something else. So I did keep a little money in my pocket and so far I'm extremely pleased with the pictures I'm producing with this lens. I use this lens to take pictures of my kids playing, sporting events and nature shots. Yes it's a little heavy but sometimes you have to give up a little something in order to go up, so I was willing to accept the extra weight.
