Comments about f.64 SCM Large Case (Black):
I have been using f.64 bags since about 2002. I used the medium case for 8+ years then it was stolen from my car. So I just turned to B&H to rebuild my camera bag. I returned right back to f.64 with the large case this time which has some great padding, stronger seperators and a stiff and thicker outside protection for your lenses and camera equipment. I use big lenses and the battery packs on my DSLR, so I just pull out the extra seperators I don't need and I'm good to go.
It can take the sand from the beaches to the very windy photography outdoors when shooting lightning. The extra compartments are a major plus to hold lots of ammo (batteries) when shooting weddings or events that require rappid flash photography. It can even hold 82mm filters and the sun blockers that go on the lenses to keep the glare or lens flare out. Also there is a big compartment to hold reflectors or calibrator equipment, battery chargers, extra batteries, pens, memory cards. This thing has tons of space for the serious photographers to pro. I can drag around 4-6 large lenses in this case easy. The strap is made to take the weight and the beatings.
Cons: If the large case is like my medium case the main zipper which allows you to get the whole inside compartment to the camera and lenses, frayed and the zipper alignment became off and it was very hard to open and close after about 7 good years of use and travellign through many airports and storm chasing. I put this thing through a lot and that was my only complaint but even then I was still able to close it and keep on moving.
To me in final summary - f.64 is very durable and worth every penny. You cannot go wrong with this brand. I really like my shoulder strap large case.
