The straight view Spotter MD 20-60x80 Spotting Scope from Newcon Optik is a weatherproof optic designed for intermediate- to long-range outdoor observations. Newcon placed extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements at the core of the Spotter MD, resulting in bright images that are color faithful and rich with detail. The fully multicoated ED optical path and highly reflective BaK-4 prisms efficiently transmit light and preserve image quality, which enables the scope to render clear views even in low-light conditions.
The Spotter MD is configured with a mil-dot reticle that can be used to estimate the distance to or the size of objects within the visual scene. The reticle has an inverted-t crosshair pattern with a ±3 mil range on the horizontal axis and a 6 mil vertical range.
A nitrogen-filled polycarbonate housing is waterproof and fogproof, making the Spotter MD ready to handle extreme humidity and heavy rainfall. The rubber-armored body absorbs light shock in addition to providing enhanced grip when conditions get wet or while wearing gloves. Complementing the Spotter MD optical features and build quality is a retractable dew shield built into the objective bell, which can further enhance image quality by blocking stray light from causing glare. The comfortable 18mm eye relief and integrated tripod mount make the Spotter MD a full-featured spotting scope ready for almost any recreational glassing activity.
