The ODIN-31C 320x240 30Hz Thermal Monocular from ATN is a compact thermal imaging device featuring the same size, weight, and shape as the PVS-14 night vision monocular. Like the PVS-14, this thermal imager is head, helmet, tripod, and weapon mountable. In addition, the ODIN monocular is compatible with almost all PVS-14 accessories. A waterproof housing and video output port make the ODIN ready for a wide range of viewing tasks.
A 320x240 microbolometer sits at the core of the ODIN-31C imaging system. By analyzing the heat signature within its field of view, this device is capable of seeing through fog, dust, daylight, and darkness to reveal subjects of interest where the unaided eye sees none. The heat sensor has 50mK sensitivity, capable of distinguishing subtle temperature differences and creating well-defined thermal images. This detector's 30Hz refresh rate is well-suited for capturing motion without the choppiness seen in slower thermal systems. A video output port allows the image to be transmitted at full-resolution to video monitors and recording devices.
This configuration of the ODIN comes with a 17mm lens that transmits a 24x18° angle of view, ideal for close-range targeting and observation. Selectable polarity modes allow the operator to designate white-hot, black-hot, or even transpose the heat signature into a false-color image. Other image enhancement tools like digital zoom and manual brightness adjustment provide further control of the viewing settings. The OLED color display and included head mounting kit complement the ODIN monocular's range of features, making this thermal optic ready for a wide range of tactical operations.
