I have to update and correct my previous review where I absolutely panned this film. I am doing a complete 180 degree turn. I recently went back and reviewed shots and negatives and it seems that I mistakenly slected this film as the culprit for some bad shots. It wasn't. As matter of fact, for an inexpensive film, it is great. Colors are punchy and nice sharpness. Looked great under flash and shines in daylight shooting. Has "push-ability" to 1-stop. Would recommend as an inexpensive negative film for those who just want to take candids for travel and holiday family gatherings. For the enthusiast to pro, a great idea for back-up for the just in case you run out of the more expensive negative film. Who would think that a film found at your local pharmacy would be such a strong performer? It is!

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):

This is one more decent ISO 400 color film, but unlike others, there's something strangely unreal about the way it renders green grass. All other colors are fine, if not intense, but green looks a bit strange in prints made from this film. It may be my lab, but in any event, I know what to expect about the look of grassy areas when I'm using this film. Otherwise, it's good, comes in handy, and works perfectly fine in my Leica bodies.

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):

Unless there is good lighting, your colors WILL look terrible. But that's color film. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot any product can do to avoid that.

I also rate my film at 300 instead of 400 because manufacturers tend to exaggerate the speed of their film.

I use this film every day and have gotten good results. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a dependable product.

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):

I am not crazy about 400 speed film. I have pretty fast lenses and it's generally not worth the loss of detail. I know there are a lot of Fuji acolytes out there, too, and I thought I would be one of them as well.

I like this film all right. It's my default film for my Pentax K1000 because the winding mechanism in my K1000 won't accept Kodak or other cheap films. I shot some test rolls this weekend with an old Minolta and the Fuji did all right, but the colors of the Kodak Gold I was using just murdered the Fuji.

Fuji looks really green on the scanner before processing and prints out sort of lifeless. My shots of the ground in landscapes come out brownish and greenish, at turns. It's consistent film which is fantastic, but I'm consistently nonplussed with some of the colors.

That being said, the film is so economical that it doesn't really matter. I buy about 15-20 rolls of this stuff a month and just practice, practice with it. It's wonderful film to learn on because you don't stress over the low cost per frame. It makes taking pictures fun and low-stress, and I think that's a big compliment.

I use this film for indoor and outdoor photography, the color depth and range is very comparable to the NC and VC Kodak films which are more than double the price. The reproduction value on this film is by far my favorite of all the film I've used, and won't break the bank either!

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):

I wasn't overly impressed by this film. I shoot professionally and normally use Kodak Portra 400 (after testing it against 400h and beating it). I wanted to shoot more film personally so I set out to find some cheap film to shoot and develop at [...]. This film honestly didn't do too well against the superior Gold Max 400. Color was just so-so and was lacking any punch the Kodak provided. Also had a very strange pebbly grain structure that was quite prominent. Also came back from the careless lab with scratches while the Kodak didn't have a mark.

I'm a photographer, and I use this film when the project just doesn't call for spending [$] on a roll, but I still want to shoot film. It can get a bit grainy, particularly after flying with it, but other than that I've got no complaints.

Although my experience with color film is limited, I find that this film makes spectacular prints. I would recommend it to anyone working in color photography, especially those who are printing manually in the darkroom. Super product!
