I'd bought the Savage Port-a-Stand awhile back and had only the shorter cross bar that came with it. I'd been wanting to use wider backdrops on occasion but figured that I'd need a whole new stand for that. Instead, I found and bought this bar, and it works perfectly with my existing side pieces. When it's not in use, it slides in on itself and is the same size as the original bar, so it's no harder to store, either.
