The Hoya 62mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Super Multi-Coated (S-HMC) Glass Haze Filter is a wise initial investment. It helps protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs.
Hoya's high transmission Super-Multi-Coating minimizes reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.
This outstanding filter offers revolutionary performance in light transmission and color balance. 12 layers of Super Multicoating are applied to the surfaces of the Skylight 1B and UV(0) models, which produces an average transmission of 99.7%.
Coupled with maximum surface precision, this allows increased resistance to flare and stunning images can be recorded at wide apertures without compromising the performance of your lenses.

Comments about Hoya 62mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Super Multi-Coated (S-HMC) Glass Haze Filter:
Bought this for my new AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8G ED VRII lens. Took some pictures of a my wife's moss rose in shadow and full sun. Color was off, too pink. Removed the filter and the color was better. It was apparently dipping into the blue spectrum a little to far. Camera = D300. I will be looking to replace this filter with a different one.
My gear = D300 + 12-24mm Nikkor + 18-200mm Nikkor + 105mm Micro Nikkor + 50-500 Sigma + ?600 flash + Manfrotto 3021 tripod + Manfrotto 393 Gimbal head. All lens have UV filters + Circular Polarizer for each size, except 62mm for the 105 Micro.

Comments about Hoya 62mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Super Multi-Coated (S-HMC) Glass Haze Filter:
This filter is well worth the money... DO NOT BUY A CHEAP UV FILTER! The hoya is easy to screw on the lens and serves its purpose of protection very well.

Comments about Hoya 62mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Super Multi-Coated (S-HMC) Glass Haze Filter:
Why buy a great lens and put a cheap filter over it? The lens is only as good as the weakest link. Have a great lens? Put a good, quality filter over it. A UV filter is a good investment not only to cut down haze but as a protection from damage. Shortly after buying a new Nikon D300 with the 18-200VR lens, my wife happened to be hiking in the mountains with it, slipped and rolled down a hill. The UV filter scratched, but protected my lens. A good investment.
