The SAS Back Panel Connector from HP is a compact, cost-effective yet rugged option which allows you to add additional storage capacity to your HP xw8400, xw8600, xw9400, Z800 and Z820 Workstations. It converts four internal SAS connectors into one rear panel mounted external Mini-SAS 4x connector. The external SAS connector (single 4-port) is installed in the rear of the chassis and has four internal single-port SAS cables. These cables attach to the motherboard or an SAS controller.

Note: Do not use PCI bulkhead adapter if special cable slot on chassis rear panel is unused.
