The Auto-Align Plug-in from Sound Radix is designed to listen to your multi-mic recording and automatically measure and compensate for the delay between the microphones, or between a DI box and a microphone. It then samples accurately, thereby significantly reducing the comb filter effect and improving the resulting sound.
The plug-in does not alter the sound of the recorded tracks in any way, but rather shifts them in time, compensating for the delay caused by the speed of sound. It works by listening to 2 audio tracks at a time, sample-accurately time-shifting the track it's engaged in, in order to best match the reference track. Auto-Align can also detect if the track is reversed in polarity to its counterpart and make up for it. It comes with a true-stereo algorithm as well as intelligent stereo-to-mono and mono-to-stereo alignment capability.
Compatible with both Mac and PC, the plug-in requires an active Internet connection during setup in order to authorize your copy of Auto-Align. The Auto-Align plug-in is useful in applications where overhead microphones are aligned near to the close miked drums, aligning a dynamic microphone and a condenser in a typical guitar amp recording setup, and aligning a bass guitar DI recording with its miked amp recording.
Note! Automatic Delay Compensation capable host such as Pro Tools 9 and Logic 9 are recommended.
Auto-Align RTAS is compatible with Pro Tools HD/LE/M-Powered 8.x and higher.
