I purchased this support to stabilize my smallish Sony HDR-HC1. I wanted to get something as compact as possible so that my wife wouldn't be scared to use it while providing improved stabilization over hand-holding. I can say that it has delivered in both accounts. A small camera such as mine does not make it too top heavy. The shoulder support is adequate. I moved the grip to the vertical position and much prefer this over the the 45' angle position which was uncomfortable and less stable for me. One problem I initially had was that whenever I used the viewfinder, which I do a lot outdoors, I would have to bend my neck right since the HDR-HC1 does not have the professional style viewfinder enclosure that hangs off to the left. This problem was a huge one which made the set up almost unusable for me. The solution was relatively easy - just mount the camcorder swung to the right with respect to the support and hold the support swung to the left. I can now brace my left elbow on my chest, pull back on the grip with my left hand and the viewfinder is aligned with my right eye without any neck bending. For the price, it's a great product and improves stabilization immensely compared to hand-holding.

The S-800 Pro Should Support by Video Innovators makes my new palm-sized HD camera so much more stable, I can't imagine shooting without it. I bought the small cam for ease of use and relative portability. The support from Video Innovators stabilizes my shots without taking up a lot of space or weighing me down. for modern HD cameras one has to bend his head in an impossible angle. My solution: mount a tripod plate, turn it in the required angle and fix it with an extra screw. Now ou can put the camera on the shoulder support and use the viewfinder without cranking your head. Additional benefit: enables fast changes from tripod to schoulder.
