Comments about Video Innovators S-100 Pro and Camcorder Handle Combo:
You need three points of contact for ideal stability. This "cheap" mount provides four: very solid and comfortable above and against your shoulder, controlled by your hand on the handle, locked in with your elbow pressed against your chest. Very solid shots.
Lightweight but extremely sturdy--far more so than the $2000 Zacuto products. Zacuto offers a cheap plastic "gunstock;" this beast has a thick, adjustable metal handle that provides 10x the stability and is far more comfortable to use all day. Same goes for the shoulder pad.
Comes with mounting arms to attach hotshoe accessories (mic, light etc). Perfect for GH1 or any camera with an adjustable monitor. With a little imagination and hardware, easily supports a rail system for matte box, follow focus, etc.
In short the perfect DIY rig.
Comments about Video Innovators S-100 Pro and Camcorder Handle Combo:
This equipment is not worth the effort to order it. If you mount a camera on the shoulder bracket the center of gravity is so high the camera/bracket is worse than holding the camera by hand. The small handle is useless, it folds up if you put any weight on it. I STRONGLY advise you to look elsewhere for a shoulder mount system.
Expertise: Pro-videographer
Problems Encountered: The balance of the bracket with a camera mounted is so high that it is worse than nothing.
