Stepping the Canon 100 Macro (67mm) up to 72mm to use the Canon 72mm Macrolite Adapter. Somewhat rough threading (ok, SCREWING), but I've only used it once. Actually plan on marrying the 2 together FOREVER..... so the rough threading/SCREWING is a nonsequiter. BUT if you have a need for continual attaching & removal of this adapter, you may want to upgrade to a Tiffen or other better made adapter..... just sayin...

This adapter will attach a 72mm filter to your 67mm lens thread. However, the major flaw of the on mailed to me (a Tokina) is that it is bright silver. This can bring flare ghosting, casting, etc... into the equation. Why this piece would ever be made any color besides matte black is unknown to me.

Comments about General Brand 67mm-72mm Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter):
I replaced this step-up ring when it would not thread into my Canon 18-135 kit lens. To prove the lens threads were good I picked up a cheap Best Buy 67mm filter which fit great.
I upgraded this ring to a B&W (both rings are aluminum) and problem solved.

I purchased this ring for my Nikon D80 and it worked just as it should. It was a great value that allowed me to use an LED ring on the front of the lens.

It's good to know that there is a way around the lens makers obvious conspiracy of varied filter ring sizes...saves a bundle when you can use filters on two different lens.
