Comments about General Brand 43mm-37mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):
I use this product to adapt a wide-angle lens to fit the filter mount on my Canon HFM 400 (which has a 43mm filter thread). The lens was the one I'd used on my Canon HF 10 (which has a 37mm filter thread). So, basically, I'm using the step-down ring to attach my old wide-angle lens to my new camera. Even though you'd expect some vignetting due to the wide-angle lens having a smaller diameter than the new camera lens, I have to say it's very acceptable. When I am zoomed all the way out, I do see just a hint of vignetting in the corners, but it's barely noticeable. I could probably get away with it (for real estate videos), but I simply zoom in ever-so-slightly, and voila... no vignetting whatsoever. It's much cheaper than buying a new lens!

Comments about General Brand 43mm-37mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):
The local camera shop actually said this step-down ring didn't exist! So naturally I went to B&H to get the real story.
Such a simple solution. I now have my old wide-angle lens attached to my new video camera. This step-down ring is quite adequate for the task. No complaints.

I use this to shoot skydiving videos with e Century .5 HD lens. The side mounted Cookie Composites CX-100 black box needed minor dremel work the fit the ring with the box. Very well made and light.

Comments about General Brand 43mm-37mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):
I used this ring to add filtering capability to a digital point and shoot waterproof camera. A little epoxy and a steady hand provided a convenient way to add a circular polarizing filter ,neutral density filter and 2x zoom to an Optio w60

I use this 43mm-37mm step-down ring to fit a groundglass adapter that ends in a 43mm mount to the 37mm threads of my Canon HV20 camcorder.
It is fantastic that such an adapter exists and that B&H carries it.
