This General Brand AV55M7 Reverse Adapter Ring allows you to mount a 55mm front threaded lens in reverse on any digital camera with a Minolta MD lens mount. It is recommended for use with standard (50mm) lenses. Reversing the lens greatly increases its macro reproduction capabilities.

Even though the URL for this item says it's for Maxxum, it's not. It's for Minolta MD connectors which is smaller. I also bought it for a Sony Alpha camera and it did not fit.
This is for manual focus Minolta MD connector cameras.

I tried this adapter to join a Minolta 50mm f/1.4 Rokkor lens to my Sony A850. The threaded side, going into my lens is perfect. Unfortunately, the side that was supposed to mount to Sony Alpha was a very poor fit. Instead of fitting to a close tolerence, like other adapters I've used, this thing had a very sloppy fit in the opening. I actually tried a few exposures with it, ending with the lens falling off the camera. (It fell into my hand, luckily).
