The Universal Audio Apollo is an interesting audio interface in that it combines input/output functionality along with built-in DSP processing. That in itself is not unique, but being able to provide input monitoring with multiple plug-ins instantiated with virtually no latency is. This ten-minute video goes through all the basics of the interface and provides real-time audio examples.

The 18 input/24 output interface ships with dedicated software that can be used to set up multiple monitoring mixes, and includes several plug-ins to get you started. The plug-ins on the inputs can be used either for simply enhancing the headphone mixes for the performers, or printed along with the audio source. The processors and plug-ins can be utilized yet again when creating a mix. Perfect for any studio environment, the interface functions equally well in live performance situations.
