Announcing Propellerhead Reason 8 Music Creation Software

Share

Propellerhead has just announced the upcoming release of the newest version of its popular music creation software, Reason 8. The update marks a major revision to the software with notable changes to the user-interface experience and overall workflow.

A brand-new browser system provides rapid access to effects, instruments, presets, and samples while in songwriting, tweaking, or mixing modes.

The interface is designed to allow you to drag and drop elements from the browser, such as virtual instruments and presets, directly to the sequencer, or samples directly to the Kong drum sampler machine for flexible and rapid exploration of new songwriting ideas.

The update also features subtle improvements that can make significant difference over time in accelerating your workflow, such as the ability to add MIDI notes by double-clicking the mouse, and to remove them by double-clicking the mouse a second time, or duplicate notes with a command stroke, among other features.

On the content side, the software will include a set of new amplifier and speaker models for bass and guitar that were developed by Softube, the Swedish Hardware and Software developer, with a variety of presets to achieve a wide range of tones.

Reason 8 is scheduled for release on September 30, 2014.
