NAMM 2015: Announcing Denon Serato and Axis Series Releases

Share

Denon DJ announced the release of the MC4000, a two-deck Serato MIDI controller aimed at professional DJs and featuring serious audio-manipulation tools in a robust steel chassis. The controller offers an intuitive control layout with precision touch-activated jog wheels and dedicated pads for hot cue/sampling with illuminated feedback. The 100mm long-throw pitch faders provide accuracy, while each channel offers dedicated EQ and FX controls. The 24-bit premium audio path creates noticeably clearer mixes through the balanced outputs for main and booth. Additionally, there is an RCA aux input for incorporating external devices and two balanced mic inputs with two-band EQ, ducking, and an echo effect. The MC4000 includes Serato DJ Intro and will be compatible with Traktor 2 and Virtual DJ 8.

Denon is also introducing its new Axis Series of high-output, self-powered speakers consisting of two satellite main speakers (Axis 8 and Axis 12) and a companion subwoofer (Axis 12S). Both the Axis 8 and 12 use a coaxial design, which ensures time- and phase-coherent output and improves definition and clarity. The coaxial driver also reduces the height of the cabinet by 30%, offering reduced visual bulk and maximized audience sightlines. Power to the speakers is provided by a 2,000W Class-D digital amplifier with onboard DSP controls and an internal five-band parametric EQ. The Axis 12S uses a high-power 12" heat-treated woofer with a 3" voice coil that is capable of generating frequencies as low as 35 Hz, with sound pressure levels in excess of 120 dB.
