This week in the news: Following their well-publicized teaser image last week, Fujifilm officially announced the compelling new X-T1 mirrorless camera; Olympus came out with a new mirrorless of their own—the O-MD E-M10—in addition to new lenses, the TG-850 "tough" camera and the Stylus SP-100 long zoom camera; and a company called Zoom released a new audio recorder called the H5.

Fujifilm Exposes Their Latest X-Series Camera

Fujifilm published an image of their latest X-Series camera, but at this time the only official information about the new body is its announcement date (Tuesday, January 28, 2014), and the image itself. While that's not much to go on, the photo tells much of the story of this new shooter. Clearly present are a dedicated ISO dial, and a pronounced hump—which strongly suggests the inclusion of a viewfinder.

PhotoPlus 2013: The Android-Powered Galaxy NX Mirrorless Camera

Samsung combined the DSLR and tablet experiences with the Galaxy NX. For tablet use, it features a 4.8" touchscreen display and a 1.4GHz quad-core processor running on top of Android 4.2. Samsung says an upgrade to Android 4.3 is likely, but the details haven't been finalized yet. The Galaxy NX gives you full access to the Google Play Store, comes equipped with built-in WiFi, and supports GSM LTE.

Fujifilm has been busy expanding their X-Series lineup of digital cameras, so we caught up with company representative Kayce Baker to talk about the new X-E2 and XQ1. The X-E2 is a mirrorless body that features a 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans II CMOS sensor. The XQ1 is a compact, pocketable camera with a 12MP 2/3" X-Trans CMOS sensor. Both models feature built-in Wi-Fi for easy file sharing.

The first in a new class of mirrorless cameras to boast a large, APS-C sensor, the Samsung NX-10 was designed without a mirror box or pentaprism, making it compact and lightweight. It's the perfect size to carry with you everywhere, but it still has powerful features like HD-quality video and an autofocus function for capturing fast action shots.
