Hewlett-Packard has announced new netbooks for the first quarter of 2011. Loaded with fresh styling and the latest components, these new netbooks promise to deliver more bang for the buck than ever before. Two basic models include the Mini 110 and the Mini 210, with slightly different configurations for each model.

The Mini 110

Hewlett-Packard’s glossy black Mini 110-3510NR is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor and 1GB of memory. The netbook features a10.1-inch LED backlit anti-glare display with a native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The display is driven by an Intel GMA 3150 graphics adapter. Ample storage space is provided by a 250GB, 7200 rpm hard drive. Like other netbooks, this one has no built-in optical drive, so you’ll have to use an external drive if you need one.

Other features of the Mini 110-3510NR include a keyboard that’s 93% of full size, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, a memory card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output, integrated webcam and microphone, stereo speakers, a shared headphone/microphone jack and a Kensington lock slot. A 32-bit version of Windows 7 Starter is the installed operating system.

The Mini 110-3510NR is 10.55 inches wide by 1.26 inches high by 7.51 inches deep and it weighs 3.1 pounds. Its three-cell battery provides up to 4.5 hours of run time on a single charge. If you want more run time, theMini 110-3530NR has the same exact features as the Mini 110-3510NR, except that it comes with a six-cell battery that can power the netbook for up to 8.75 hours.

The Mini 210

If you want a netbook with a more stylish appearance than the Mini 110, HP has you covered with the Mini 210. The Mini 210 has the same feature set as the Mini 110, except that this model has a 10.1-inch flush glass display, for a sleeker look. The two models are also the same size and weight.

Looking at the display and keyboard from the front when the unit is open, the Mini 210 appears to be all silver and similar to a MacBook. But that’s where the similarities end, because Hewlett-Packard has seen fit to coat the Mini 210’s lid in a series of unique and eye-catching colors. The Mini 210-2130NR has an Ice Berry finish. The Mini 210-2150NR is done up in Lavender Frost. The Mini 210-2160NR is cloaked in a shade of Luminous Rose. Those who like an even bolder color will want to check out the Mini 210-2190NR, which is finished in Crimson Red. If you don’t want your netbook to be noticed you’ll probably prefer the Mini 210-2170NR, which comes with a sharp looking but stealthy charcoal-colored lid. All Mini 210s come with a six-cell battery.
