CES 2015: Dell Revitalizes Consumer Device Lineup
Whether you are in search of one of the smallest 13-inch laptops available, a gaming laptop with desktop-class graphics, or a full-featured laptop complete with a 4k touch display, Dell has you covered. In addition to the long list of portable computing options, you can take your viewing experience to new dimensions with the Dell UltraSharp 34" curved 4k display, offering a truly immersive visual experience.
Dell XPS 13 and XPS 15
If portability is what you want Dell offers two new XPS model laptops. First, the Dell XPS 13, which Dell calls the smallest 13-inch laptop in the world, offers a virtually borderless infinity display along with what Dell also claims to be the longest battery life of a 13-inch notebook: up to 15 hours. The infinity display features UltraSharp Quad HD+ resolution and 5.7 million pixels, allowing you to see movies and presentations in a whole new light.
Under the hood you will find the 5th-Generation Intel® Core™ processors and solid-state drives for enhanced system performance: take into account the enhanced display, top-of-the-line hardware, and light weight—the Dell XPS 13 weighs an astonishingly light 2.6 pounds. If you want a larger display, you can step up to the Dell XPS 15 and take advantage of the UltraSharp 4K Ultra HD touch display. This larger display comes with more than 8 million pixels and is one of the highest-resolution panels currently available.
Alienware 15 and 17
When you think of Alienware, you think of an on-the-go gaming powerhouse, and these updated offerings do not disappoint. Both of these systems feature a long list of gaming technologies, including optional Intel Core i7 quad-core processors and NVIDIA GTX980m graphics, and come compatible with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier. Dell has managed to slim down these gaming laptops, as both are more than 20 percent thinner than their predecessors.
While these may be smaller in form, Dell still managed to enable the graphics cards to run with 100 percent of their rated wattage, delivering maximum graphics performance. The Intel Core i7 models will automatically over-clock when you plug your laptop into the Alienware Graphics Amplifier (sold separately). Dell continues the sturdy construction of its Alienware line; each of these notebooks is constructed with high-end elements including copper, aluminum, and carbon-fiber composites for a rigid, sturdy design.
Dell Inspiron 7000 and 5000 Series
Leading the pack of the Inspiron line of Dell laptops is the Inspiron 15 7000 Series laptop with Windows, which took the title of 2015 CES Innovation Award honoree. Inside the Inspiron 15 7000 series you will find the new 5th-Generation Intel Core processors along with an optional 4K UHD touch display. As one of the most sleek, lightweight offerings in the Inspiron line, you can easily take your photography or video work with you and even watch UHD movies all while on the go.
Upgrade to the Inspiron 15 5000 Series laptop or the Inspiron 23 All-in-One desktop and reinvent the way you take pictures with the RealSense 3D Camera Front F200. Change the way you game, interact with others, and much more—this 3D camera allows users to download from a library of new apps in the Intel App Showcase that take advantage of the cameras depth sensing capabilities. The camera is also capable of capturing gestures within apps, as well as 3D scanning and 3D printing. The Inspiron 15 5000 also features 5th-Generation Intel Core processors and nearly 8 hours of battery life.
Dell also includes True Color Display technology in both the Inspiron 7000 and 5000 series laptops, providing enhanced clarity and color fidelity. You can choose from several different profiles, making it easy to adjust the color temperature, vibrancy, and tone of the display. You can also adjust the color to compensate for the lighting hue to accommodate the lighting environment. Rounding out the list of features for the Dell Inspiron line is Dell’s new precision touchpads for more precise controls with the ability to pan, and pinch to zoom.
Dell UltraSharp 34 Monitor
Dell is getting curvy with the UltraSharp 34 WQHD monitor. See your games like never before, and multitask with ease, as this Dell monitor features a 21:9 ultra wide aspect ratio that has proven to be the perfect size for a curved monitor.
The slight curve in the display allows the entire screen to be viewed without the need to look from side to side. In addition to the enhanced picture quality, the 18W speakers make for a complete multimedia experience. With enhanced connectivity features, it is easy to connect additional monitors and peripherals directly to the monitor.
