WD MyCloud Business/Expert Series Solves Your Mega-Data Storage Issues
In our modern digital age, high-capacity file storage is becoming increasingly important. Not only are large businesses faced with storing larger and rapidly growing amounts of data, but many home users, such as photographers and filmmakers, are being faced with the challenges of storing and archiving RAW files, scanned negatives, HD / 2K / 4K video, audio workflows, and more. To this end, WD is releasing the new My Cloud Expert Series and the new My Cloud Business Series NAS devices, which are compatible with Windows 8.1, 8, 7, and Vista, as well as Mac OS X Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion. These new WD NAS devices will help meet the data management and storage needs of everyone from small business to home offices and more.
The My Cloud Expert Series EX2100 and EX4100 are available as pre-configured 2-bay or 4-bay NAS servers, complete with WD Red drives, or as stand-alone diskless enclosures. The 2-bay can be figured with 4, 8, or 12TB of storage, while the 4-bay can be loaded with 8, 16, or 24TB of storage. The My Cloud EX2100 uses a 1.3 GHz Marvell ARMADA 385 dual-core processor and 1GB of DDR3 memory to deliver transfer upload speeds of 116 MB/s and download speeds of 114 MB/s. The My Cloud EX4100 uses a 1.6 GHz ARMADA 388 dual-core processor and 2GB of DDR3 memory to bring home uploads to 116 MB/s and downloads at 116 MB/s, which will enhance your media streaming and data access.
They also contain a built-in Twonky DLNA-certified media server, which will allow you to stream all your HD content to media players, SMART TV’s, gaming consoles, and other DLNA certified devices seamlessly. Both units can be configured with multiple RAID options, including roaming and migration setups, so you can easily and seamlessly move drives from one unit to another without a loss of data.

Also available is the My Cloud Business Series DL2100 and DL4100, which represents a step up from the Expert series in terms of flexibility and storage options. Made for small- to medium-sized businesses or home offices, these are also offered as 2-bay or 4-bay NAS servers, complete with WD Red drives, or as stand-alone, diskless enclosures. As with the Expert Series, the 2-bay model of the Business Series NAS may be configured with 4, 8, or 12TB of storage, and the 4-bay model may be loaded with 8, 16, or 24TB of storage.
The 2-bay Business Series is powered by a 1.7 GHz Intel® Atom C2350 Dual-Core processor with a burst speed of up to 2.0 GHz and 1GB RAM, which is expandable to 5GB. The 4-bay Business Series is powered by a 1.7 GHz Intel Atom C2338 Dual-Core processor with a burst speed of 2.0 GHz and 2GB RAM, which is expandable to 6GB. Each NAS also features USB and Gigabit Ethernet ports. These easy-to-manage, out-of-the-box solutions also include secure remote and mobile access options, and NASware technology for comprehensive and fully integrated maintenance. In case of a network component failure (which spells trouble for any business), they include dual NICs with failover capability, to prevent connectivity loss. Other business features include integrated FTP server support, user level and group level management options, UPS support for added data protection, and a real-time resource monitor.

Whether you’re a small business, home office, or just have a large collection of digital files that you want to stream and share, you can now access them all in one place.
