D Flo,

Great piece. So, if you where only going to shoot with one lens, what would that lens be?

Shmully

I've just purchased Canon Rebel T2i + Canon 10-22mm and Canon 28-200mm... I was planning on getting the 50mm 1.2 instead of that other telezoom lens, but i just thought that a versatile and longer lens would fit my initial ***** better. As budget has been currently a little short, I just decided to buy it at a second opportunity along with other acessories, such as tripods and etc...

Would you have any other thoughts about my equipment? I'll take any suggestions, add everything to the wishlist and think about them later.

For now i'm just super-extra anxious about getting my first DSLR with ultra-wide angle lens!!! yeah!

Such a great review, David, keep up with the good work!

Vince.

I purchased a Canon t2i Rebel with a Canon 18-200 mm lens for a recent trip to Japan.  I shot in Raw+JPEG.  Photos came out superb, as did a HD video, which this camera is capable of.  The lens, which gives you the 35mm equivalent of approx. 28/29mm to 320mm is about as close to all-around usage as you can get.  (Note: This lens has metal fittings, not *******).  Up until this trip I was lugging around a Canon A-1 with a 50mm f1.4, a 20mm f2.8 and a 80-200mm f.4.0.  This lens on my Canon t2i did almost everything the prior lenses could do (longer telephoto, slightly less wide angle) with a considerable reduction in the weight and bulk.

I would highly recommend the Canon t2i Rebel with the Canon 18-200mm lens for travel photography.

DAVID FLORES OFFERED VERY GOOD ADVICE FOR CANON LENSES FOR USE ON THE INCREDIBLE EOS REBEL T2I.

HOWEVER, DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT AND DO LOOK AT THE TAMRON'S, SIGMA'S AND TOKINA'S WHICH ARE TERRIFIC 3RD PARTY EQUIVALENTS TO ALL OF THE OUTSTANDING CANON LENSES, BUT WITH MUCH SWEETER (LOWER) PRICES THAN ANY CANON OUT THERE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE INEXPENSIVE BUT SWEET LITTLE 50mm f1.8 FOR ABOUT $99.00. THIS LENS (50mm f1.8) SHOULD BE A PART OF EVERY CANON OWNER'S KIT BAG.

EVERY CANON EOS DSLR OR 35mm SLR THAT WE HAVE OWNED, WE HAVE USED NOT ONLY CANON LENSES BUT OTHER 3RD PARTY LENSES AND HAVE GOTTEN GREAT RESULTS WITHOUT OVERSPENDING. THAT IS A FACT.

BEST OF LUCK AND LOOK AT EVERY LENS NOT JUST CANON!!!!!!
