Avid just announced an exceptional new opportunity for independent video editors and production companies who are looking to expand their toolsets to include the most advanced media creation applications on the market. Users of Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Xpress Pro and Xpress DV can now purchase new upgrades and crossgrades that offer savings of up to 80% off of the full retail price of Avid’s Symphony 6 software. This is a serious discount. The entry-level price for the stock version of Media Composer 6 is well over $2,000. The new upgrades and crossgrades get you into a more advanced Symphony 6 system for under $1,000.
Avid’s Media Composer has long been one of the main platforms for creating all forms of visual media, from feature films to television commercials. Symphony 6 offers identical tools and workflows as Media Composer 6, but with the addition of more elaborate color correction features and Boris Continuum Complete (a comprehensive suite of visual effects plug-ins). Symphony 6 simply supplies you with more finishing tools so you can elevate your work to the highest standards before you send it out.
Like Media Composer, Symphony 6 is 64-bit and can be used without proprietary hardware. It’s compatible with third party hardware from AJA, Blackmagic Design, Bulefish444, Matrox and MOTU. Another similarity that Symphony 6 shares with Media Composer is its compatibility with the Avid Nitris DX, which supplies you with analog and digital I/O, RGB 4:4:4, stereoscopic 3D and accelerated Avid DNxHD and/or AVC-Intra. No matter what kind of setup you need, from working with just a laptop to a full blown editing suite, Symphony 6 is at your disposal.
Both of these exciting new offerings are available at B&H. If you own any version of Media Composer, Xpress Pro or Xpress DV, you qualify for the new Symphony 6 Upgrade. If you own a copy of Final Cut Pro, you qualify for the Symphony 6 Crossgrade. Thanks for checking out this B&H InDepth announcement.
