To turn your TV into a home theater, you could install an A/V receiver plus at least five speakers—or you could add a single soundbar containing five smart speakers. The new Bose CineMate 1 SR Home Theater Speaker System takes the latter approach. To bring out low frequencies, the system comes with the Wireless Acoustimass module, a powered subwoofer that can be placed anywhere within 20 feet of the soundbar.
The soundbar can be mounted flush on the wall or placed flat on a table stand. Setup is a cinch, thanks to the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system, which analyzes the dimensions of your room along with other variables and then automatically adjusts the system to produce the best acoustical output, resulting in wide, spacious sound.
The CineMate is designed to take the digital audio output from your TV, so you can leave such source components as a cable box, DVR, disc player or games console connected to the TV. In addition to the connection from the TV, you have the flexibility to connect up to two audio/video devices directly to the CineMate system’s auxiliary inputs. Bose supplies two optical digital cables and one coaxial digital cable for feeding audio signals to the soundbar. The SmartSource input selection system constantly monitors the CineMate’s audio inputs and automatically switches the signal as needed.
Besides controlling the CineMate, the included programmable IR remote can be used with your TV, Blu-ray Disc player and other devices.
