Fuji has announced a replacement camera for its popular F550 EXR compact superzoom digital camera; the Fujifilm Finepix F600 EXR. Fuji’s newest compact superzoom features a ½" 16MP back-illuminated EXR CMOS sensor, a 3.0” 460,000-dot LCD and a narrow profile, 24-360mm equivalent zoom lens.
In addition to JPEG/RAW/JPEG+RAW still capture and 1080p at 30 fps HD video capture, the new F600 EXR can also capture in-camera-multistitched 360° panoramas, and contains an intelligent GPS system that in addition to embedding your coordinates into your image files, can locate over a million nearby places of interest, making it a rather versatile travel companion.
Other high-performance features found on the Fujifilm Finepix F600 EXR include ISO sensitivity levels up to 12800, advanced low-light imaging modes including a Motion Detection mode that bumps the ISO sensitivity when focusing on fast-moving subjects. There’s also a selection of Fujifilm film simulation modes and a trio of image improving shooting modes including EXR HR (utilizes all 16MP for maximum resolution), EXR DR (two bracketed exposures dynamically combined for improved highlight/shadow detail), and EXR SN (improved signal-to-noise ratios).
Currently here in a black finish, we are awaiting word from Fujifilm regarding which other colors will be available in the USA.
