For photographers who wish they could shoot 2D and 3D stills simultaneously or perhaps stills and HD video simultaneously, Panasonic has introduced the Lumix DMC-3D1, a dual-lens compact digital camera that should warm the cockles of the hearts of multitasking imagers everywhere.
Sporting a 3.5-inch (460,000-dot) TFT touch-screen LCD, a top ISO sensitivity of 3200 and a 4x (25 to 100mm equivalent) zoom lens, the Mega O.I.S image-stabilized Panasonic Lumix DMC-3D1 ranks right up there among the most ambitious pocket cameras we’ve seen to date.
Designed around dual Venus Engine-powered, 12MP MOS imaging sensors, this nifty pocket cam is capable of recording your choice of 8MP stills and 1920 x 1080 @ 60i HD video in 3D simultaneously, or 12MP stills and 1920 x 1080 @ 60i HD video in 2D simultaneously. For those seeking extreme flexibility when shooting stills, the Lumix DMC-3D1 can also capture stills or video at different focal lengths at the same time, i.e., wide views and tight shots of the same scene, which enables interesting options for single camera video shooters.
Look for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-3D1 on our shelves sometime in December, 2011.
