Western Digital My Net Routers Meet Our Growing Network Demands
Western Digital has just released its first generation of HD Dual-Band Routers: the My Net N600, My Net N750, My Net N900, My Net N900 Central (1TB), My Net N900 Central (2TB) and My Net Switch. It’s only natural that WD should lead the charge into the world of accelerated routers, since the company is a self-proclaimed “storage industry pioneer and long-time leader” when it comes to collecting, managing, using and enjoying digital information and entertainment. With the release of the new My Net line of dual-band routers, WD has proudly put its technology to work in order to provide accelerated HD streaming and integrated storage for wireless backup up and remote access.
With regard to the My Net line, WD’s Executive Vice President recently said, “With so many people within the home simultaneously watching movies, playing games and browsing the Web via their iPad, iPhone, Xbox and other devices, the network demands placed on today’s connected home has grown exponentially.” So in response to that growing demand, WD has pioneered technology like FasTrack Plus, which allows the My Net routers to deliver high quality, “accelerated HD entertainment that is intelligently and automatically prioritized to ensure smooth streaming. “ And, along with the family of accelerated My Net routers, WD has also introduced the My Net Switch.
The most affordable of the My Net routers is the My Net N600. It features FasTrack Plus technology, as well as fast dual-band N Wi-Fi speeds for accelerated HD streaming. The My Net N600 also supports stress-free setup with plug-and-play connectivity. The router is equipped with four LAN Ethernet ports, one WLAN Ethernet connection and one USB 2.0 port. It’s RoHS compliant and supports a combined data rate of up to 600 Mbps (300+300) Mbps.
Similar to the My Net N600, the My Net N750 HD dual-band router supports accelerated FasTrack Plus technology, which optimizes the router to handle multiple simultaneous HD media streams, while also prioritizing entertainment bandwidth so everything runs smoothly. The N750 delivers a combined data rate of up to 750 Mbps (300+450) and is equipped with five Gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB 2.0 ports.
The next step up is the My Net N900, which also features WD’s exclusive FasTrack Plus technology. The N900 has seven LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports and one WLAN Gigabit Ethernet port, as well as dual USB 2.0 ports. It supports plug-and-play connectivity and fast dual-band N speeds up to 900 Mbps (450+450) Mbps for accelerated HD streaming.
Above the N600 and N900, WD has also released the My Net N900 Central, which features your choice of 1TB or 2TB of internal storage. Like the N900, the N900 Central features FasTrack Plus technology, plug-and-play connectivity and a 900 (450+450) Mbps maximum combined data speed. The N900 Central includes four LAN and one WLAN Gigabit Ethernet port for up to 10/100/1000 Mbps wired speeds. It has a single USB 2.0 port as well for additional storage or for attaching high-powered wireless antenna.
The last product released with the My Net family is the My Net Switch, which features eight Ethernet ports that allow you to instantly expand your wired connections via super fast Gigabit Ethernet up to 10/100/1000 Mbps.
With advances in technology, expanded connectivity options, accelerated data speeds and dual-band support, these new routers are bound to temporarily satiate our prodigious appetite for streaming HD media. Enjoy!
