CES 2014: The Polaroid Socialmatic Camera
Fusing nostalgia with the contemporary, the new Polaroid Socialmatic camera is aimed at those who wish to share their photographs frequently and widely. With a design based on Instagram's logo, the Socialmatic is a 14MP digital camera with 2MP rear-facing camera, featuring built-in Wi-Fi and running on Android.

These capabilities alone enable the sharing of imagery to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or nearly any other site of your choosing, and since the camera is based on Android and incorporates a 4.5" touchscreen, a wide range of photo-editing apps can also be used to enhance and adjust imagery directly in the camera.
The instant sharing capabilities don't stop there, however, as this camera also harks back to the age of Polaroid's own instant photography by way of ZINK Zero Ink printing technology, which allows for the printing of 2 x 3" smudge-proof, tear-resistant prints straight from the camera. Akin to a dye-sub process, ZINK prints dry instantly and are emblazoned with a unique QR code to allow other users to easily find them online and follow their photo streams. The prints also peel apart, and have an adhesive backing, for posting anywhere in the physical world.
The new Polaroid Socialmatic is due to ship in the fall of 2014.
