First off, this is a sharp image, Mark may disagree but fact is fact!
As for how this shot was made, well figure it out!
Do you have anything to say about it? let your self be heared in the comments below.
There is an old chestnut that goes "there's a first time for everything;" this review takes that notion and squares it. After scouring our archive of B&H newsletters, I think this will be the first dedicated review of a DVD we have produced. B&H stocks a large selection of tutorial videos, software, and books; frankly we all own at least one educational tool that we were forced to rely on when the product manual wasn't enough. The fact that I am not one for watching a lot of television is an amusing irony that should not be missed while reading this overview of the very informative Nikon School Creative Lighting DVD.
This is the last chapter in the "best of 2008" trilogy, unofficially titled, The Pocket Camera Strikes Again. Jokes aside, manufacturers have become quite serious in making their cameras increasingly more specialized and unique. A few years ago, when walking up to a wall of point and shoot cameras on display, you might have had a hard time discerning the subtle differences in the sea of silver plastic bodies. Nowadays, not only are color choices available, there are also plenty of specialty tools such as RAW file formats, wide-aperture and wide-angle optics, built-in GPS receivers, high definition videos, and HD video. So let's take a look at some of the brightest cadets of the class of 2008.
Continuing our discussion of the year's most interesting lenses, let's revisit those exciting announcements as they pertain to digital SLRs. In 2008 we had PMA, Photokina and PhotoPlus - the trifecta of photographic expositions. These shows brought forth a plethora of delectable tools for both the serious and budding photographer. The following overview is in reverse-alphabetical order (as a change) so we begin with Sony.
After long-admiring (and recommending) iZotope's dynamic, comprehensive and surprisingly affordable mastering plugin, Ozone, I was excited to investigate iZotope's restoration offering, iZotope RX. While no one should record inferior audio thinking they can fix it later, there are always times in which even the best practitioners have less control over their source material than they would like. Enter RX.
DJing has evolved considerably in the last 5 years, beginning with the transition in medium from analog to digital. As most every DJ will now tell you, digital media is far more portable than heavy crates of records and – perhaps most appealingly – is also notoriously more available and less expensive.
The PortaBrace Director's Cut Series consists of specially modified versions of PortaBrace's most popular cases. Fine details such as soft deerskin suede accents, antiqued bronze-finish hardware, micro-suede lining, suede shoulder strap with memory foam core, and rubber Slip-Not (anti-slip) bottom are some of the enhancements over the traditional blue PortaBrace line. The Director's Cut Series utilizes suede and champagne colors, offset against a contrasting black body color to distinguish them visually. This updated line of professional camera cases are featured exclusively at B&H, and as such we should take a closer look at some of the twelve models that make up the series. Before we do, an examination at one distinguishing feature is required – the leather.
Like a full moon on February 29th, there are some dynamic events that coincide with one another and produce some very compelling results. An example of which is the Las Vegas Photo Marketing Association expo in January, Germany's Photokina in September, followed closely by Photo Plus a few weeks ago here in Manhattan; these three events combined have been the platform for the release of a broad range of lenses of into the wild to the benefit of us photographers. So let's warm up the old ‘way-back machine' and take a look at the most interesting lenses of 2008 beginning alphabetically with Canon.
