SPECIAL EFFECT FILTERS

"Achieving Dramatic Effects"

All Tiffen filters with "Warm" in their name include the exclusive Tiffen Warm 812 filter. You can create this added "Warm" simply by stacking a Warm 812 onto a neutral Soft FX, Pro Mist, Black Pro Mist, or Circular Polarizer

The difference between a Fog and a Double Fog filter is that Fog renders all objects in the scene in the same fog density. Double Fog renders closer objects in a lighter fog than objects in the distance.

The difference between Sepia 2 and Sepia 3 filters is that a light fog effect is added to the Sepia 3, while they both offer the same sepia tone coloring.

Split Field Lenses essentially use a Close Up Lens in the bottom half of the lens to enable close focusing of a nearby object while the top half of the lens maintains sharp focus of the background. This creates tremendous depth of field. Available in densities +½, +1, +2, and +3. The greater the density, the closer you can focus in on an object.

    Split Field + 3

Combination Colors: 81EFN3, 81EFN6, 81EFN9, 81EFN1.2, 85N3, 85N6, 85N9, 85N1.2, 85BN3, 85BN6, 85BN9, 85BN1.2 Dual-purpose filters with combined effects. For example, 85N6 combines an 85 with a Neutral Density 0.6. These combination filters avoid the need to stack a number of very important individual filters onto filters often used in conjunction with them.

Day for Night Easy and cost-effective way to create a realistic dusk or nighttime appearance when filming during the day. Available in two versions:
Cool Day for Night simulates a feeling of moonlight by adding a lavender tone to the scene along with a low contrast component. The low contrast lowers the ability to see detail, as in a naturally lowlight scene.
The Monochrome Day for Night is a yellow-green tone filter which removes much of the red tones from a scene for a monochromatic effect. Day for Night skews the color balance toward natural low light levels where the eye is less sensitive to color. Absorbs 2 f:stops (which should not be compensated for).

Streak Filter renders a single light ray effect from a light source or a reflective metallic or water surface.

Enhancing Circular Ultra Polarizer combines two popular Tiffen filters: Circular Ultra Polarizer and Enhancing. Creates striking, saturated scenics with deep blue skies and super saturated warm tones. The combination uses only one filter position in a matte box.
