Expedition Photography in the Digital World: 5 Things to Know Before you Go Sponsored by Lindblad Expeditions
Monday, December 5, 2011 | 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Speakers: Ralph Lee Hopkins
Event Type: Photography
Skill Level: Basic, Intermediate
Location: B&H Event Space
For the past twenty years, Ralph Lee Hopkins has traveled to the world’s wild places with Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic in search of great images.

Using examples from his work on expeditions over the past decade, this presentation will focus on the 5 things you should know to before you go on your next adventure – from choosing the right camera and protecting your gear, to tips for making images with impact and digital workflow for the road.

In Expedition Photography anything goes, but you must be prepared. It all starts with knowing your camera and understanding how your camera sees light, and also learning the rules so you know how to break them. Ralph’s presentation will help you navigate this digital world with ease, while remaining true to the craft.

Come with an open mind, enjoy the images, and prepare yourself to see the world in a new way on your next photographic expedition – whether to the ends of the earth or in your own back yard.

*Following his presentation, Ralph will be signing his new book, “Nature Photography: Documenting the Wild World.”
