Almost every photographer wants to publish a photographic book of their work. A professionally produced fine art book is an excellent medium for exhibiting and promoting a body of work. Photographer Shannon Richardson self published his book "Route 66 American Icon" handling every aspect of the process. The class will cover the details of design and layout such as: understanding image preparation, soft proofing for accurate reproduction, using Adobe Indesign to create a print ready PDF file, working with the printer to achieve the finished product, and how to take advantage of the internet / social network sites for promotion and marketing.
The presentation will conclude with a book signing by the photographer.
Shannon Richardson
Photographer Shannon Richardson has been documenting the diminishing and mythic past landscapes of the American southwest for the last several years. His photographic project of Route 66 was successfully self published last year. Entitled "Route 66 American Icon" it pays tribute to the famous and fading stretch of road. As well he has been photographing the aging relics of the bygone flimic wild west. One of Richardson's current projects, Texas Is a Fine Place to Die, is a visually striking work based in the passing of that Texas culture.
