The Moose Cruise: A Three Hour Photographic Tour Around Manhattan Sponsored by Lexar and Circle Line

Join master photographer Moose Petersen as he takes command of a swift Circle Line Ship for a complete cruise around the isle of Manhattan. Get up close to iconic NYC monuments like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island; shoot from a unique vantage point beneath legendary bridges such as the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg and the George Washington Bridge and more. It can be said that Moose is first and foremost a nature shooter, so he will be pleased to sail the ship along the majestic Palisades on the Hudson. Moose will be on the ship board public address system to point out key photo ops as well as mingling with the attendees spreading his wisdom. To help you get the most out of your 3 hour photo cruise, B&H Mavens with select gear from Canon, Nikon, Lensbaby,  Oben Tripods, and Sigma will roaming about the ship offering opportunities  to test equipment and help with camera settings and compositional advice.

Since 1945, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises has hosted over 60 million passengers in New York. Today, Circle Line is the only cruise line dedicated exclusively to sightseeing, with vessels made of steel and glass windows that offer magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline, all year round.  Photographers seeking images of the city and its landmarks can find no better way to capture a multitude of images in such a short time. Circle Line has offered a special rate to attendees of the Moose Cruise of $25.00 dollars. The three hour cruise is normally $38 and is specially discounted for this event only to registered B&H Event Space attendees. 


This cruise has a limited capacity and we expect the cruise to sell out. So please register early and online to guarantee your passage on the Moose Cruise.

We will be meeting at Circle Line located at Pier 83
WEST 42nd Street & 12th Avenue. DO NOT COME TO THE B&H SUPER STORE, we will be boarding the boat at 1:30 PM and sail promptly at 2 PM.

In light of these images we have fun contests for you to enter. For those who want to go the next level and approach this like a pro, A&I Books will be on hand to help you publish your very own photo book of New York images taken on the cruise. Moose Peterson

Moose’s true passion has always been and remains photographing the life history of our endangered wildlife and wild places. Since 1981 he and his wife Sharon have dedicated their lives to this pursuit. Educating the public about our wild heritage is their hallmark. In recent years Moose has added aviation photography to his pursuits with the same goal of preserving our flying history, pictorial and oral for future generations. Along the way Moose has been honored for his photographic passion: a Nikon Legend Behind the Lens, Lexar Elite Photographer, recipient of the John Muir Conservation Award, Research Associate with the Endangered Species Recovery Program, just to name a few. He shares his knowledge through his writing, being published in over 131 magazines worldwide, author of 24 books including his latest, Captured and lecturing across the country to thousands upon thousands of photographers. One of the original Nikon shooters to receive the D1 in 1999, Moose embraced this new technology, becoming the only wildlife photographer in the world to shoot strictly digital in the early years. While a beta site for all the major hardware and software manufacturers, Moose continues being a creative innovator of new techniques both behind the camera and the computer, which is the driving force behind his photography and goals.
