Maine Media Workshop + College Portfolio Reviews
Friday, October 25, 2013 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Speakers: Elizabeth Greenberg, Jean Miele, Robert Meyer, Sean Kernan, Squarespace, Tim Grey
Event Type: Photography
Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced
Location: B&H Event Space
Maine Media Workshops + College will be hosting a series of portfolio reviews for all levels of aspiring and professional photographers with a body of work.

A team of industry professionals, all Maine Media Workshops instructors, will be at the B&H Event Space to provide 15-minute one-on-one review sessions. In each session you will receive valuable feedback on your portfolio.

In order to sign up for a portfolio review, please register online for a 2-hour session of your choice. Once you have registered, you will receive an email from Maine Media Workshops with the name of your Reviewer and your 15-minute timeslot.

On the day of your review, please bring a current portfolio of your work, either in print or digital form. Please note that if you bring a CD of your images, you must also have a laptop to display your work. The value of attending a portfolio review is immeasurable. In addition to receiving creative guidance from a highly acclaimed professional photographer, you will also have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with your peers.

For this reason, we ask that if you sign up for a review, you please make the commitment to attend. In addition, due to the number of reviewers, we are only allowing 20 people to register. If for any reason you have to cancel, please send an email to eventspace@bhphoto.com to let us know so that another photographer can take advantage of a portfolio review.

Robert Meyer

Robert Meyer creates dynamic photographic images. Utilizing all photographic formats and techniques, this award winning photographer has been able to master three distinct genres of photography: people, product, and now fine art with his Native Dance project. Meyer not only understands the creative but also the business of making pictures. His work has been published in Vogue, Bazaar, and GQ Magazines. Awards include American Institute of Graphic Arts, Artist Guild of Chicago, Art Directors LA, and Best of Show Photoworks '99. His clients have included Toyota, Mazda, Leo Burnett, Alberto Culver, Lands End, Coke, and 7 Up.
Meyer has been responsible for innovative catalog and commercial work in Chicago, Los Angeles and now New York. Constantly concerned with the changing needs of the advertising print market, Meyer continues to explore new creative and technical avenues in photography. Highly regarded for his ability to give static imagery a degree of depth and believability, Meyer's work remains strategically balanced between the commercial and artistic worlds. After 20 years of operating a successful studio in the mid-west, Meyer took time away from commercial shooting to acquaint himself with the latest in technology. Putting his energies into teaching, mentoring and his fine art project with Native Americans, he has reemerged in the forefront of his profession.
Meyer has recently relocated to the coasts with studios in New York and Los Angeles. He continues to pursue the commercial assignments and the growing opportunities offered him within the photo community.
