Lensbaby and B&H have teamed up for a unique opportunity to try out the new Lensbaby lineup of selective focus SLR lenses, right on the streets of NYC! You’ll get to experience the magic of the Composer, Muse and Optic Swap kit during a two hour photo safari hunt through Times Square with B&H Mavens Jennifer Diamond, Gabriel Biderman and David Brommer - the resident “Lensbaby experts.” We will supply you with a Lensbaby loaner, instructions, and list of photographical subjects, elements, and techniques to focus on. During the safari, the B&H Mavens and Lensbaby team will be available to offer both technical and aesthetic advice for capturing great images.

After the event has ended, you will have the chance to win Lensbaby products and gift certificates by submitting your images to a B&H and Lensbaby photo contest! To enter the contest, you must upload your photographs to the B&H Event Space Flickr group, where your images will be judged on the following criteria:

• Number of items photographed on the photo safari checklist
• Technical accuracy
• Creative perspective
• Original idea
• Sweetness of sweet spot

Times Square is the perfect environment for compelling Lensbaby shots, with its bright lights, dynamic structure and energy. Participants should bring their SLR camera bodies (Canon and Nikon preferably) and memory cards or film, although we strongly encourage shooting digital for first time Lensbaby shooters.

Gabriel Biderman

Gabriel Biderman is a travel and self-taught fine art photographer for over 15 years. He states proudly, "I love the process of creating the image. Classic cameras, Pinholes, and Plastic Cameras help push the visions along - I'm a big fan of choosing a specific camera to get me into a certain mindset. I try to spend some quality time in my Darkroom every week - though, thanks to Lensbabies, the digital darkroom is piquing my interest in pixels!"

Gabe's work has been featured in photography exhibits in San Francisco, New York, London, and Hawaii as well as being published in print and on the internet. Currently Gabriel works as the trade show Marketing Manager at B&H Photo Video and Pro-Audio. Visit Gabriel's website and blog at ruinism.com.

Jennifer Diamond

When she's not spending quality time with the Internet, Jennifer Diamond enjoys urban exploration, toy cameras, and documenting third world countries. Other offline activities include playing ping pong and producing events for B&H. Jennifer has a not-so-secret online identity that can be found on www.flickr.com/photos/nifer.
