Nikon's Steve Heiner will guide you through the process of successfully shooting HD movie clips with Nikon's D90 and D5000 digital SLR cameras.

Go beyond the basics and learn about optimizing camera settings to affect your movie clips including the use of custom Picture Control settings to create black and white or even sepia toned movies! Discover the uses of selective apertures for depth of field effects that add a professional look to your movie files. Steve also shows you the secrets to using exposure control to maximize the impact of your movie clips and through the use of various NIKKOR lenses, dramatic scenes can be recorded like never before.

Steve will demonstrate these tips, tricks and techniques with examples of what is possible with this great new D-Movie technology and how you too can use it to make better family videos, to enhance your still image slide shows, or to even make fun and creative "cinematic masterpieces" of your very own.

Steven B. Heiner

Steve joined Nikon in 1985 as a Technical Representative in Dallas, Texas before moving on to Sunnyvale, California and later back to Salt Lake City, Utah. During his time in the field, he provided technical assistance and training to many pro photographers at events including the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Pan American Games, Shuttle launches, and four Olympics. He has trained government and military specialists all around the country and even at sea in the use of Nikon products. Steve also taught the Nikon School of Photography as a primary instructor for 2 years.

He joined the Nikon management team in their New York offices in 1999 and oversaw the implementation of sales, training and third party programs to better educate dealers, sales people, and ultimately customers about Nikon products. Steve holds the position of Senior Technical Manager at Nikon Inc. in Melville New York where he acts as technical liaison to the Nikon factory in Japan and is also a spokesperson for Nikon to the media.
