The introduction of High Definition DSLRs (HDDSLRs) is one of the most exciting evolutions of technology to happen in years. The ability to capture high definition motion-video with a digital SLR has transformed the world of still photography and has created a new opportunities that are being utilized by photographers and filmmakers alike. The B&H Event Space is pleased to present a full day workshop devoted to learning the basic fundamentals of the camera gear, audio equipment, and workflow of HDDSLR by featuring Canon, Sennheiser, and Apple along with special guests Canon Explorer of Light Bruce Dorn and Jem Schofield of theC47.com. 
Bruce Dorn
Bruce Dorn has been involved in the visual arts for thirty-eight years. Bruce’s photographic career began when Conde Nast publishing named him as a Guest Art Director of Mademoiselle Magazine. After opening a studio on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, Bruce shot for a variety of fashion, business, and news magazines, as well as Annual Report and Advertising photography. Bruce was later offered a position as a lecturer at the Fine Art campus of Indiana and Purdue University in Indianapolis where he taught all levels of Design and Photography and began the certification process for the school to offer a BFA in Photography. Bruce then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he opened Studio B, a boutique studio specializing in advertising and visual problem solving. Shortly after, an opportunity arose for Bruce to act as the Director of Photography for series of thirty-second television commercials that took Bruce to the finals of the Clio Awards competition. Bruce was inducted into the Directors Guild of America and won numerous industry awards, including the Art Directors Club Awards, Clio Awards, Mobius Awards, and a Bronze Lion from the Cannes Commercial Film Festival.
After five years, Bruce spun off to create Bruce Dorn Films, a commercial production company specializing in both analogue and digital effects. As a director/cameraman, Bruce specialized in high-risk cinematography, with expertise in lighting, special effects, underwater, and aerial cinematography.
Bruce travels extensively as he serves his commercial clientele, guides digital safaris, and conducts lectures on lighting, photography, and digital film-making technique. Bruce is a Western Digital Creative Master, a Canon Explorer of Light, a Canon Print Master, and a Corel Painter Master.

David Missall
David Missall is an expert in the field of RF wireless technology. As a market development manager for Sennheiser Electronic Corporation, Missall consults prominent news and sports broadcasters, theaters and live music stages on multi-channel wireless installations and events, system design, and frequency coordination. Among others, Missall has provided RF wireless solutions and troubleshooting support for CNN, ESPN, Fox Sports, Speed Channel and NASCAR.
Missall is a member of the Sennheiser Global RF Expert program, which is a company-wide network of Sennheiser RF application engineers that support customers throughout the world.
An over 20-year veteran of the professional audio industry, Missall has worked on various film and TV productions as technical advisor for audio and RF design.
Jem Schofield
Jem Schofield is the founder of theC47, an online and offline resource for production based training, information and services. He is a producer, author and educator who teaches production and post-production at workshops, trade shows and special events. He is also the co-founder and director of The Filmmaker's Intensive, an annual two week program that focuses on narrative filmmaking.
Jem's company, Buttons Productions, produces projects for an ever expanding client base. Clients include Apple, Inc., The New York Times, Canon U.S.A. Inc., Vision Research, Abel Cine and Blue Note Records.
He is an Apple Mentor Trainer and co-author of the Apple Pro Training Series book entitled Motion 4 Quick-Reference Guide. He is also the co-author of the Apple Pro Training Series book entitled Motion Graphics and Effects in Final Cut Studio 2 and a contributing author of the Apple Pro Training Series book: DVD Studio Pro 4, 2nd Edition.

Orlando Luna
Orlando Luna is a post-production specialist with Apple Inc. Prior to arriving at Apple, Orlando owned and operated Luna Studio Inc. for 15 years. His firm produced commercial photography and film work for clients including Nike, NYTimes, Newsweek and MTV. His authoring credits include various interactive CD's and DVD's on Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Aperture. Orlando's most recent published work is the Apple Pro Training Series: Aperture 2.0 book on Peachpit Press which he co-authored.
Rick Berk
Rick Berk has been working as a professional photographer since 1993, photographing a wide variety of sports for various organizations including Major League Baseball, Pacific Trading Cards, Donruss-Playoff Trading Cards, and more. He has been published by various media outlets including Newsday, The Hockey News, and many other newspapers and magazines. In 1999, he was named Pacific Trading Cards Photographer of the Year.
Rick also owned his own youth sports photo business, covering the Little League Baseball & Softball Eastern Regional Tournaments, as well as hundreds of local youth sports events. At one point, his business had over 1 million youth sports photos available for sale through their website.
Rick is now a Canon Camera Product Educator for the NYC / Northeast territory, working with dealers and consumers providing training and support on Canon products.
