Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Black/Gunmetal):

This is a well constructed bag at a bargain price. The materials are generally nice, including all YKK zippers. The overall weight is very light. The bag is well padded all around, but not so heavily as a LowePro, which is a good thing in my book!

I like the way the main compartment operates, with the top flap opening away from your body like a hatch. Some of the dividers are very stiff, and easily keep the (otherwise very flexible) bag propped open. The combination of customizable rigidity, shallow depth, and bright blue interior, makes for easy navigation of the contents in any situation.

I bought this bag because it matched a carrying strategy I had in mind: One side of the bag holds my Nikon D810 (with a lens mounted) securely on its side, with its handgrip at the ready. The other side of the bag is divided up to hold a pair of additional lenses and some extras. It works great, and makes it a pleasure to change lenses and take the camera in and out of the bag without fuss. No other bag seemed right for this setup.

The shoulder strap is nothing special, but it gets the job done. Its length is adjusted using a pair of sewn-on cam locks, which mean there are no loose ends to get in the way. The strap is not removable, except with a pair of scissors. Cutting it off leaves you with a pair of 2-inch wide rectangular plastic loops which are attached by sewn webbing to the bag. These loops will take any 2-inch webbing, making it possible to use a different shoulder strap of your choice. The angle of attachment of the loops encourages the bag to lean away from the body, which makes opening and closing the top hatch easy. It's unfortunate that the loops aren't metal, but they are at least high-quality acetal resin parts.

If I have one criticism, it's that the front pockets are not very useful. They are tight against the bag. While I know that one of them contains an organizer, I have never seen the inside of the pocket with my eyes. Since the pockets are covered by a large heavy flap, they don't need to be so tight. They should be pleated and allow some room for maneuvering.

Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Black/Gunmetal):

I bought this to use during outdoor family portrait sessions, when I only need a couple of lenses with me, but want the ability to change lenses quickly. Was using a backpack before that I had to take off, put on the ground, unzip, change lenses, zip back up and then hopefully still have the moment in front of me. I'm excited with this pack to be able to keep my bag on me and change lenses more easily on the go. The stabilizing strap is a little snug on me -- not sure how someone bigger than a ladies' size 12 would use it. The strap adjustment clamps seem a little too easy to undo (haven't had problems yet, just wouldn't surprise me if they came undone at some point). Unlike many reviewers, I like that the zipper is placed the way it is -- you can actually see into the bag while it's on you and open, but view is obstructed for others around you more. Also like that it looks more like a messenger bag than a gear pack, so won't have to feel as paranoid about it screaming to strangers that I've got camera gear in there.

I fit comfortably in this bag:
        camera with 28mm attached
        18-55mm
        55-250mm
        manual bounce flash

I do wish the front pockets were a little more accommodating. They are barely wide enough for my Cowboy Studio wireless flash trigger/receivers. Also, there is just the outside flap over the top of the pockets -- no zipper or velcro keeping anything from possibly popping out of those outside pockets.

I snagged this bag for a really great price, though, compared to most other places I found it. This bag would not work for me for shoots where I need all my lenses (4 or 5 of them) -- like real estate or weddings, etc. I am only using this when I need quicker access to 1 or 2 lenses, for portrait shoots.

I've only had this bag a week or two, but I really like it. It it very comfortable to wear around and holds all of my equipment. One of my favorite things so far is the zipper on the main compartment. I think it is the best zipper I have ever seen. So smooth and easy to pull around. It just feels like quality. Good looking camera bag.

Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Night Blue/Pacific):

Overall: Great bag with lots of easily accessible storage. Very comfortable. Looks awesome. Excellent construction.

I love the ability to configure the interior compartments. All compartments are easy to access, even when fully loaded. The bag opens towards your body which is definitely a plus over my other smaller shoulder bag.

Tripod holder works well but is hard to store/remove while wearing the bag. My Benro Travel Angel is very securely attached.

I typically have a DSLR with attached lens, 2nd lense, flash, spare batteries & charger, memory cards, polarizing filter, ipad & travel tripod, wallet & phone. Still have room for a windbreaker and snack. And, it is very comfortable when fully loaded.

Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Night Blue/Pacific):

This was my first Timbuk2 bag purchase and I am now hooked! Its so durable, yet stylish, and is well padded to protect the camera. My 11" AirMac fits in it great, plus there is room for the DSLR and another lens, and a few more gadgets. I like that it doesn't scream "camera bag". I was so impressed with the quality I have now bought another Timbuk2 bag for different purposes. I've had a couple people ask me about this camera bag, as they like it also.

Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Black/Gunmetal):

I use this bag to carry a DSLR (3" deep) with a 4 inch deep lens, an extra 5 inch tele lens, a mirror less camera with tamron 90mm lens and a flash. Of course the bag's partitions went through quite a bit of rearrangement for over half a day. The bag got heavy (really heavy). Now I went on a 50 mile trip to a state park and back and the following are my observation on how the bag performed. The bag is well constructed. It held all the weight (~20 pounds) quite very well. As long the bag is worn across the shoulders, it was quite comfortable as well. I had the DSLR at one end and the mirrorless at the other with the extra lens and flash in the middle. The opening for the camera is not via the front flap which opens to only a few pockets for accessories (phone, lens cap, etc.). The opening to the camera is along the zippered edge close to the body. This make it a bit cumbersome to open it unless you push the bag away from the body. But once that was done the camera(s) were easy to slid rout and back in. The zip for this opening is a normal small tooth zipper and I am not sure it will hold up for years to come. The bag has plenty of space for a 15" laptop or an iPad. With a tablet, which will go into the same pocket as the laptop (so you can have only either one of them) also contains an unblocked velcro which will split the pocket into two when the laptop is removed with one side being the iPad / table pocket and the other perhaps for a phone or an external HDD. The shoulder strap was quite comfortable. The bag also has a tripod strap at the bottom. In the rear pocket towards the body side is a small pocket with a rain cover in it. The rain cover will enclose the entire bag including the top handle and the strap. This can make carrying the bag an ordeal in the storm. I also carried the bag recently with an SLR and the legendary Bigma. They fit quite well when held sideways, flat in the bag and the tripod mount turned 90º. Made for a very discrete transport.

My final say is that the bag is (a) well constructed, (b) has design quirks, (c) noiselessness, and (d) endowed with a sketchy zipper.

Comments about Informant Camera Sling Bag (Medium, Night Blue/Pacific):

I'm using this as an overall camera vault for my Panasonic micro 4/3 video setup. It provides ample space for a micro-mirrorless camera system, multiple lenses, mics, and accessories. Though, for a day of shooting, there's not enough room for non-camera essentials such as water, food, rain gear.

Nice internal pocketing and movable dividers.

My only critique is that the overall "feel" of the bag does not match the normal Timbuk2 messenger bag profile. It looks like their newer bags respond to that issue with a different bag-shape, or by simply providing inserts to convert existing messenger bags.
