I own a plethora of travel bags to get my gear around including backpacks, larger shoulder bags, etc. I'm very happy with all of them as I typcially go on hikes or longer adventures and shoot primarily landscapes. Occassionally though I like to just go out with a simple camera and lens while exploring or scouting. A large backpack can be quite combersome for these situations so I was in search for a small camera bag.

I found one and mistakenly purchased it at a local department store one day when I was in a pinch. Needless to say the bag ended up being too small for my 5D mark III and way over priced! I ended up returning it the next day. I then searched here on B&H, where I would have gone if I had time for shipping, and found this Manfrotto case which is an absolute steal. I could not believe the price and actually had to double check that I was reading the description correctly and I was actually purchasing the bag and not just an accessory or something. I also ended up purchasing the Pro Holster Plus 40 made to carry camera and 70-200mm. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The quality is what you would expect from a company like Manfrotto and I'm still blown away by the price. I essentially got two great bags for the price of one that didn't even fit my camera.

The pro's of this bag are its sturdy construction and heavy zippers. It offers good protection for your camera and an extra lens. It also comes with a rain fly that can be used in bad weather.
The cons of this bag are the size, it's advertised as a holster but it would not go on a belt. The bag itself could use at least one more divider to keep your lens's separated better.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Holster Plus 30:

The main compartment is roomy, with space for my D750 and a second zoom lens. The side pockets are narrow but can hold extra batteries, memory cards, or filters. The case is rigid and a little bulkier than I am used to, but it does give good protection of the contents. This is a good choice for someone who wants to carry more than just a body and lens, but still keep it light.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Holster Plus 30:

Very good balance between size and convenience. This holds my Nikon D750 with attached grip and attached 24-70F2.8 lens. But I had to reverse or remove the lens hood, otherwise will have to remove the bottom padding which is not a wise thing to do. I also carry the rain case in one of the side pocket. There still room in the bag to carry Nikon 50 F1.4 lens, shutter trigger and BlackRapid strap (or you can replace this with Speedlight 910) if you wish.

The Manfrotto Pro Holster Plus 30 is a very good bag for the $[$]price at which it was being sold. Normal holster design, reasonably padded, spacious. The bag is larger than I expected, but that is not a problem.

I got it on sale (discontinewd) for $, so yeah, it is a burgen. But even at a higher price, it is a very good, sturdy bag. Would I purchase it if it were the original? Probably not, given that then new Manfrotto line is better, and probably I would go with the Vanguard. But if you find it at a dscount, don't even think about it. Get it! I just wish they had the one for the 70-200 and battery grip.

I looked at the Think Tank, Lowenpro and the Manfrotto holster bags. The Manfrotto bag has nice protection using reinforced padding. It's very well constructed for less than half the price. It also has enough room to store an extra lens or external flash. I can keep the lens on the camera without reversing the hood for my 24-105 lens inside the bag.

This bag was purchased to hold a Canon DSLR with a 24-70/2.8 lens. The bag is large enough to hold the Canon 580ex flash in addition. The side pouches are pretty tight, so they can only hold small thin items. The bag has a tough outer shell and I feel confident that it can protect my gear. I paid around $[$]and received free shipping. I have no complaints. Thank you B&H!

Went for this bag after 20+ years of Tamrac and probably as many of their bags, big and small, because they make nothing in holster/slim scale size that would accommodate a Nikon D800+grip, D810+grip, or D4S as is, and the silicon skins that render these even bulkier a pinch. This bag seems to be the only one in its class able to fit any of the above. And a small second zoom lens, too, beside the bulky, heavy wide or standard 2.8 zoom. And the GP-1 Nikon GPS unit hanging on the strap.
With no accessory straps built onto it, still working at figuring a way to use it together with some of the Tamrac M.A.S. system items that I need.

The materials and build quality of the bag looks good. I did think it would be better though it the lock of the strap was made of steel instead of hard plastic. A lot of space in the interior for a DSLR, 2 lenses and a flash maybe. It seems a little hard to unzip the bag and pull the camera out of the bag so quick shots may be hard with the bag. Lastly, the bag was a bigger than I expected but overall, the bag seems nice.

I use it to carry my Canon 70D with the 18-135 IS STM lens attached and the lens hood inverted. Product seems well made and sturdy. Should be able to absorb the normal bumps on the nature trails I hike. Good padding protection, but could be better if D-rings on bag and snap rings on strap were metal instead of plastic. Side pockets could be a little bigger for accessories, too. Rain cover could be attached some way, too.

The Manfrotto bag is an exceptionally well made bag, the size was perfect for what I needed it for. After seeing the quality of this bag I am planning on replacing my backpack camera bag with the manfrotto backpack bag.
