Great for travel, but my 15" laptop was too big and poked out the corners of the bag. If you need to fit anything about the dimensions of paper or notebook go for the bigger II version

Comments about Manfrotto Advanced Active Backpack I:

I have to carry everyday my photo stuff for shootings with the following equipment:
          Nikon D200 DSLR
two Nikon flashes, SB-900 (quite large)
          2 lenses
          11'6" laptop
          batteries
          laser distance meter
          plus some small accessories

These things just fit in the backpack. I can't put the camera with battery grip, but at least my stuff is less heavy.

The backpack seems good quality, it looks stylish BUT it doesnt look like a photo backpack. Which is very good, because bad guys maybe don't suppose that expensive photo stuff is there in it.
The only bad thing is the tripod carrier pocket. You can only put the tripod in it without tripod cover. And the tripod strap is not fixed to the backpack, so there is a chance that sooner or later you will lose that, unless you fix it to the backpack somehow.
It is very good to carry, my former Samsonite photo bag caused me back pain (which was not exactly backpack, rather a sidebag that i Could use as backpack too), and this one is very good for my back.
It has several small pockets where you can put little things.

Comments about Manfrotto Advanced Active Backpack I:

I use this top quality camera/laptop backpack for taking landscape pictures while hiking and traveling. The size is great, it is made well but I would have liked some small pockets or zipper slots for lens filters, lens cleaners and the like. The backpack size is great for the camera body and a number of lenses and it has side compartments for water, a top compartment for snacks or a light jacket. The best feature is that the camera compartment opens with an easy access on the bottom without unzipping the whole bag.

Comments about Manfrotto Advanced Active Backpack I:

PROS: I use this backpack for travel/on-the-go photography. Having the camera stored at the bottom, completely separated from other personal items, allows for quick and easy retrieval/storage of my DSLR (Rebel T3i w/ 18-200mm). There are four other storage compartments which are more than enough for for my wallet, phone, ipad, and other items I carry (the smaller size also encourages me not to overpack). Importantly, this backpack does not feel heavy -the weight is very well balanced throughout the pack. CONS: My tripod (Manfrotto 293) seems to overwhelm the bag when in the side storage compartment. The bag cost $30 more in store than I could buy it online at [*]. But the flawless BH Photo experience is worth it. OVERALL: Highly recommend.
