I couldn't be happier with this Mac! It's fast, well equipped, the screen is beautiful, the speakers sound great, and the size allows me to do so much more than I was able to on a smaller monitor. The setup was simple, as it is with all of Apple's products, however it did get stuck at the "setting up your iMac" screen. I rebooted it and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I was torn between this Mac, the new 5k Mac and I was also considering a PC but after lots of research I decided that this was the best bang for my buck. If you're trying to decide whether or not to save some money by buying this or shelling out the extra cash on the new 5k version I can tell you that while the latter undoubtedly has an incredible screen, this Mac's screen is absolutely beautiful too. It's a great machine and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. No sales tax, free next day shipping and the lowest price I found for this Mac. It's a great deal!

I have been Mac only for 10 years, so this is not buyer's remorse. I do quite a bit of photo editing and this is the slowest Mac I have ever bought. Not slowest processor, slowest machine. 8GB of RAM and 4 cores and I get the spinning beach ball when I open Safari! I wish I had bought the fusion drive and a faster processor. That said, the screen is gorgeous with plenty of real estate. It is quiet and (so far) does not run hot.I also do not like having the SD card slot on the back.I would not recommend this for intensive photo or video editing. For general casual use it is probably more than you need.

For the power user this 27" iMac is the cream of the crop. Reviews after reviews show that the retina 27" iMac has slower performances due to it 4 and 5 K res. After working on this 27" at it's navite 2560 x 1440, I had to zoom in some of the web pages to view them comfortably. Most media production apps will need their fonts 2-3 points larger... and yes! the new 5 K iMac default recommended viewing is scaled to 2560 x 1440 res.

Comments about Apple 27" iMac Desktop Computer (Late 2013):

This is my 3'rd iMac. I bought this model IMAC from B and H in July of 2015. I was so excited. I previously had a 2005 iMac which I adored followed by a 2008 model 24 inch iMac. The 24 inch iMac was a sturdy BEAST that still runs and works today. I LOVED my STURDY 24 inch IMAC. A few times the 2008 iMac was bumped by a coffee cup or maybe hit the floor (while already on the floor) and recovered just fine without any damage. LOVED my 2008 iMac and couldn't wait to get my next advanced iMac as the years went on.Finally bought my iMac in July of 2015. Didn't even power it on till November 1st 2015. One day it was on the carpet and I was cleaning and it got bumped ever so slightly and the computer started to tip over. Luckily I was right there and my big toe caught the computers fall;, or so I thought...The landing on my toe was very soft and the computer had not fallen from any distance..it was already ion the carpet and at no time did the iMac hit the carpeting...it just landed on my toe very softly...which was enough to shatter my iMac display the top and have several cracks inside my display that run to the left and all the way down and there is a green strip now that never goes away. Half of my 3 month old iMac display has been ruined. It is ugly to look at and an eyesore every time I look up at the computer. I am so sad and at the time upset with Apple that they have built a machine that is NOT sturdy. The glass display is only 1-1.5 millimeters thick, about the thickness of a razor??? My 2008 iMac was far far sturdier than this flimsily made machine. So my investment has been ruined because in large part the display is way to thin. It is so incredibly easy to break a 1.5 millimeter thick display that I no longer have confidence in the Apple iMac display because it is way too thin to feel assured....this would not have happened with my 2008 iMac as THAT iMac would have been fine landing on my toe without any damage.....With that being said, unless Apple is willing to back to a thicker display that is sturdier, like the 2008 iMac then I won't be buying another iMac for that exact reason.I went to try to fix it and they said it would cost 815-931$ but then they told men the metal was too bent where the impact happened on my toe to be fixed. Are you kidding me!? So now the metal is so thin also that my toe bent the metal as well on a 3 month old iMac??? Can you say WAY WAY TOO THIN APPLE.....I had considered myself an Apple guy for life since 206 on but I have lost faith in Apple unless they start building sturdier displays....this is a tragedy....and a BAD investment to spend $[$]on an iMac that has only a 1.5 millimeter thick display.....WAY TOO THIN APPLE

Technology is racing along making last years toys less lovable. I still have a perfectly functional 2009 iMac but it doesn't have USB 3.0. I could make it work or I could buy a newer one. B&H offered this one with everything I need (and a bigger screen)at a great price. I couldn't resist. It was delivered in record time, set up and working quickly so I could get right into the horrible few days of updates, passwords, and iCloud foul-ups. I still have to deal with the transition of no superdrive and how much of my former software doesn't work anymore (Photoshop). But the computer, new yet somewhat old, is good enough for the next few years. It is a bargain for me.

It is hard to go wrong with an Apple product. This refurbished iMac is not exception. Other than the fact that you know it is refurbished, no one would ever know. It is packaged just like it would be from the factory brand new with a wireless keyboard and wireless smart mouse. I might add that they also have already pre-loaded the batteries for you so you can pull a plastic strip and start using it right away. The computer itself is wrapped in a easily removable thin foam wrap as well as a protective plastic, stick-on wrap. It also includes your quick start manual with a pouch and some warrenty information. You can plug and play right out of the box with this one. The only comment I might have is the shape of the box they package and, as well, ship it in. It is an ackward trapezoid. Both the iMac fancy box and the outer shell regular box are the same shape. The outer box also has the model number information on it. Between the model number on it and the shape, it is a dead giveaway what is in the box to any crook who might want to take it. Just be aware of that. Other than that, this is nothing but pure awesomeness!
