Comments about XIT Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip for Canon Rebel SL1:

Let me begin by saying I've been using off brand BGs on Canon DSLRs for several years. I'm a huge fan of some of them. This is not one of those. Right out of the box it feels remarkably flimsy. Once on the camera, it's very ill-fitting. The finish doesn't match the SL1 and the grip itself has a slightly too large feel to it when seen on the cameraI thought with M/L sized hands I'd appreciate the extra real-estate, but the grip is very uncomfortable. The protrusion that contains the shutter release and IR panel makes it awkward to hold. While I was aware a cable had to be plugged in for the shutter release to work, what I didn't know was that the grip's shutter release wouldn't focus, only take the photo. As soon as it was depressed half-way the camera fired without locking focus. This grip cost $, which is about what a good third party grip costs. However, this has none of the trappings of a third party grip. Maybe for $ this would be a good addition to an SL1, but for $, it went right back.

This is the perfect addition to my Canon SL1, avoiding the issue of changing batteries in the middle of a shoot. A necessity for time lapse photography!

Comments about XIT Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip for Canon Rebel SL1:

This battery grip is a must for users of the Canon SL1 camera. It gives a better grip to the small camera body, specially when using the camera one handed as I usually do. I usually shoot with the flash off camera via flash coiled cord cable, so the grip allows me to hand hold the camera comfortably with my right hand while holding the flash with my left hand. The grip holds two batteries which doubles the total number of photos one battery can do. One draw back is the fact that for the shutter switch on the grip to operate, a supplied cable with two 1/4 inch connectors, must be attached from the grip to the camera. This requires opening the HDMI and mini USB protective door, on the camera,to connect such cable and the protective camera door must remain open as long a the cable is connected between the camera and grip. Other than that the grip feels very well and it does match the camera color as well.

          Great product but...

Comments about XIT Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip for Canon Rebel SL1:

My only issue here is that the grip requires an external cable to operate with the camera. Whether this is the grips fault or the canon sl1 camera's fault i am not sure. Otherwise great product!

          Not Sure - Yet

Comments about XIT Pro Series Multi-Power Battery Grip for Canon Rebel SL1:

I'm not sure yet about this battery grip. I bought this to solve two problems: First, to provide a better grip on my SL1 (I really like the SL1.). And second, to make it possible to change batteries without having to unscrew my Cotton Carrier / Manfrotto adapter plate.), which is a hassle. The large "knob" for the vertical shutter button makes the grip awkward for me to hold. Having the Cotton Carrier adapter plate with its hub plus the Manfrotto quick release plate attached to the bottom gives the whole assembly a bulky, out-of-balance feel. So, I'm not yet sure whether or not I'm going to keep or return the grip. The grip is well made. It hold two lithium batteries, but because of its small size there is no AA holder. Also, because of its size there are no AF, etc. controls on the grip. So, I suggest that you order one and try it for yourself.
