Comments about Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer (Six-Core, Late 2013):

After having the previous mac pro, this thing is amazingly small and light. I have external hds that weigh more. I love the amount of ports and ease of use. Thing flies through Premier and Logic, even with other things running. Love it.

Comments about Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer (Six-Core, Late 2013):

I shoot and edit a ton of 2.5k and 4k content, and I needed a machine that could eliminate some of the waiting I was doing on my previous Mac Pro (2010). I immediately upgraded to 64GB RAM, which I recommend, and it's awesome.

I can now transcode 2.5k in real time or slightly less than real time. I was doing 4k transcoding at roughly 7x real time, and on this machine it does it in 3x. So that's a significant time saver.

I've already maxed out the USB ports, and the one thing that's a bit of a pain is there are no front-facing ports of any kind. I knew that when I bought it, just didn't think about what a pain it would be to constantly be behind the computer. I plan to add a thunderbolt dock of some sort to give me easy-access USB ports.

Comments about Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer (Six-Core, Late 2013):

Out of the box coupled with a Thunderbolt Rocketstor and Excellon USB 3.0 enclosure using Apple Migration assistant, I was up and going in about one hour. The speed increase is considerable if you are running VMWare or doing audio recording.
