Comments about Canon EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (White Box):

This little M mount lens is smooth, quiet, and gets a good image. I wish it had a larger aperture but most of the time it doesn't bother me. For shooting videos, it is perfect.

I have used B&H for great buys like this canon ef-m lens. Good price, quick shipping. Almost a no-brainer.

        Pros: Very good IQ.
        Well made feeling solid
        Good price point
Cons: Only gave it 4 stars because I'm not
convinced I can see a difference in IQ with
or without IS on this lens.
Would also have like longer zoom range but
certainly knew beforehand what I was
        purchasing.

Works well when you don't want to use the 22mm f2.0. It's light and has a metal mount.

Comments about Canon EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (White Box):

While trendy opinion makers will follow each other to proclaim how poor the EOS M is as a camera, I just use it and get what I need from it. It's a good, powerful compact aps c camera. The lens does matter though. The 18-55 will slow it down in lower light though the camera's firmware update renders its AF speed the same as other cameras in this style particularly with the 22mm pancake. For whatever reason the 18-55 is sometimes difficult to focus; also for manual operation I have to set the camera to full manual. That aside the image is quite good. I think it's slightly softer than the 22mm at certain stops. If you find any anomalies remember that Lightroom takes care of them instantly. So what is the lens good for? The image stabilization works well for video. The stm motor also keeps the focus decently in good light. Perhaps it takes work to outfit it with the rigging capabilities of 'pro' gear but you know what? Who cares about any of that, really? It can be done. People work themselves into fits trying to fit in with what they believe is expected. Life is full of objects to be used creatively. The M with it's 2 lenses and adaptor can be used as creatively as the photographer is willing to be creative. I love it.
