I live on the top floor of a building with unobstructed view. I got a max of 9 channels with this antenna, some with sketchy reception. My 20 dollar standard HD antenna gets 22 like it was on cable. The stock should not be offered by B&H as it belongs in a dollar store. Total waste of 100 dollars. If this uses the latest U.S. military design, the American army is in trouble because I don't see how they could communicate decently in the field with this device.

I live about 37 miles from the towers and this antenna picks up a lot of channels however if somebody walks close to the device then the signal gets jumbled for some time and comes back

Comments about Mohu Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna:

I bought the Mohu Leaf 50 to replace an old, bulky, awkwardly designed Terk antenna. From my ground-floor apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn, the Terk was able to pick up a clear signal for most local over-the-air channels, except 7, 11, and 13. With the Leaf, I still can't pick up 11 at all, but I do receive 7 and 13 most days, along with all the other channels. (I tried placing it in various locations, but this was the best result I could get.) It's certainly much better looking than the Terk. I have it hanging on the wall next to a window, where it's virtually invisible. Overall, I'm pretty happy.

Can't Pick-Up Signals 35 Miles Away Over Flat Terrain

Comments about Mohu Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna:

The Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna by Mohu does not work as advertized. A little coaxial cable connects to a piece of plastic the size of a computer screen and it is supposed to get "great" reception up to 50 miles away. We live in Lawrence, KS and it's a straight shot (flat) to Kansas City and Topeka with transmission towers 35-40 miles away (see photos) and the signals fade out constantly, a real irritation.I bought the Leaf 50 at a large electronics chain because of the reviews and figured that being an amplified, multi-directional antenna with a 50 mile radius, 35-40 miles of flat Midwest terrain should be a breeze. Wrong! It worked OK for a couple months with intermittent but tolerable cut-outs, but when winter started to set-in, the cut outs became more frequent and longer on all channels. We have a few trees around the house so you would think that with the leaves being gone reception would get better, but it got worse, a lot worse.I took the Mohu Leaf 50 back well within the warranty period, but they would not honor Mohu's 1-year warranty, telling me "it's outside our 15-day return policy". That is exactly why this was the first thing I had purchased their in seven years, their lousy return policy, and it will be the last thing I ever buy there! What I paid for this cheap piece of plastic and co-axial cable is absurd and I highly recommend that you do not buy one unless you are very close to the transmitters. Even though the FCC online digital reception map indicates that Fox (WDAF - 35 miles), CBS (KCTV - 35.7 miles), and ABC (KMBC - 39.3 miles) are all in the "green" (strongest) signal category, the constant loss of signal and reception is an aggravation I can live without. What a waste of money. My $10 rabbit ears get better reception than the Mohu Leaf 50.Excuse me while I go buy a real antenna.

Comments about Mohu Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna:

This is a great antenna I used on my living room television and it gets all of the local HDTV Channels. However, I'm located in New York City and it doesn't pick up stations that are located 50 miles away. It's still a great antenna and the channels come in crystal clear.

I was blown away by it's ability to receive the local stations here in the mountains. I returned it and went with the bigger stronger indoor/outdoor unit and put it in my sweltering hot attic ( at 10:00pm ) I now get a ton of super clear channels.

I recieved 13 channels with this antenna, and most of them are HD. I had the previous version, which was equivalent to a Leaf 30, and did not recieve any additional channels with the amplifier that comes with this product. I would save some money and get the Leaf 30.

Comments about Mohu Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna:

Easy to set up. You have to play around with where you place it to find the best reception. Wifi signal can interfere so try placing antenna as far from wifi router as possible. I catch probably around 20 channels including CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX. I live far from any major cities so my reception is great considering. I also read that replacing the RG5 coaxial cable that comes with the antenna with a RG6 coaxial cable can greatly increase picture quality. (I replaced my cable and it seemed to help also with signal strength)

Only con would be sometimes the channels go in and out-like one day I catch it then the next day there is no signal (could be because I live in the country). To help with that I found the right spot to place the antenna where the channels I care about always have a signal-involved not only moving the antenna but playing the with the cables too ( I had to tape them flat against the wall to get the best reception)

Installed it in my west facing window and it works very well. The problem I just started to have is that the heat from the sunshine in the afternoon has started to weaken the glue on pads causing the antennae to slip of the glass. At better glue, and really cleaning the adhesion spots on the glass with alcohol should solve that condition

I replaced an old rabbit ear antenna that had signal boost. The reception was horrible. Programs faded in and out if I could get them at all. I was always adjusting the antenna to get better reception. I replaced the antenna with the MoHu Leaf. I went from lousy reception to great reception. I picked up a number of new channels and all the channels are clear. It looks like I have cable. I recommended it to my brother, he bought one, and he says its a great product too.

The DTV reception map for my location showed good reception should be available for 6 transmitters with 4 more that should be acceptable.
I tried this antenna in several locations, including the loft ( 21 feet above ground level in a wood frame house) but could only pick up three stations and all three were subject to occasional pixilation. A big dissappointment! I think that unless you have unobstructed line of sight to the transmitters it does not work.
                                  I have returned the unit.
