I absolutely love this bag. It's very durable and you can throw it easily in an overhead compartment without the fear of destroying your gear. I also love the backpack option but it gets VERY heavy to carry on your back once all of the equipment is in there. But I did find that I could carry the backpack and then put all of my clothes into the other compartment and wheel that around. It's very efficient and definitely a great piece of equipment, especially for those that travel with gear or like to move around in airports quickly like myself.

This Roller is a major step back of it's predecessor. Mine is half a year old, and the elastics neoprene front part has already holes, as it less strong than nylon, and typically tears up much easier than heavy fabrics. To clarify, part of the front is heavy duty nylon, part is neoprene, which by the way looks bad too.Worst of all, they constructed the rear part of the backpacker new, and moved the center of gravity forward to the front side. This makes the the Roller front heavy and it you have a larger notebook in the front pouch it flips over on the front. This means either you hold the trolley handle all the time or you find yourself elevate the roller over and over again form the ground where it lays on the front sind like a bug with the feet up.I a traveling for my living, This is not the way to build such gear. Thumbs down. One more thing...CAUTION! The Roller has a Zipper on it's backside. This is the side it lays on when you open the top. The zipper will damage the surface of your floor. There are severe scratches on my wood floor caused by the zipper. Lowepro should be held responsible for that kind of damage

Amazing travel Bag

By Jeremy

from Boston MA

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x100 AW:

I was hired for a celebrity event in Ft Lauderdale, and needed a reliable travel bag that could carry everything I needed and not break the bank. The pro Roller was all this and more, it is very light and spacious and held two camera bodies, 2 600XRT canon flashes, turbo sc battery pack, light master pro meter, extra radio triggers, light stand, light modifiers, misc parts and pieces, cf cards Ect... Needless to say I had a travel studio in this amazing bag, and it fit perfectly into the overhead compartment. It also converts into a backpack for even more versatility. Highly recommended for those photographer who travel a lot like I do!!

The wheels are almost silent, airline carry on perfect size. The only thing is not enough padding at the bottom you need to add some yourself. But overall this bag is really well made. Just travel to Cancun from Las Vegas absolutely made the trip really easy. 2 Canon 6D 24/70 f4 70/200 f4 and 16/35 f4 2 Quantum trio flash with 2 Cheetah Batteries and SLR Strap, Sekonic light meter, Cards extra batteries Passport cell phone. all of it inside this bag.

I had high hopes for this bag but the inside sucks. I hate the new divider system. Their old configuration was better. All I want is a simple grid divider system. This one has too many parts and the bottom is uneven height.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x100 AW:

I have been shooting weddings now for almost 10 years and I was always lugging 3-4 smaller bags of equipment around. 2 bags for cameras with the lenses attached, 1 bag for flashes and light modifiers, and another bag for stands and reflectors.

I was able to fit everything I shoot with into this one Roller Bag. Two Cameras with lenses attached, my canon 2x tele-extender, a set of extension tubes, extra batteries for flashes and cameras, 2 600EX-RT flashes in their pouches, light modifiers, lens hoods, an ST-RT remote control, cables, 2 filters at 77MM each, the pop on flash diffuser, 2 sling straps, extra memory cards, and cable release. All in this one bag.

AMAZING. Now ... read this carefully ... I was used to lugging 2 - 3 bags full of equipment around at one time. This one bag is heavy since it has everything I use in it. Its probably right around the 30-40LBS mark considering all the stuff that is in there. BUT what is great about this, its on wheels and they seem pretty good at going over a lot. PLUS it has a slide plate so you can pull up to a curb or stairs and just pull it up and it slides nicely over the edge of the stairs.

My only regret is I should have went with one size up since I packed it pretty full. Pocket sizes were a bit tight but that may just need breaking in.

One other thing I just love, is the handle for the bag neatly stores inside its own zippered pouch, plus there is another pouch on the back side that contains the rain cover.

Definitely recommend this to anyone that has a couple of bodies that you want to leave your lens on and consolidate your equipment into one manageable bag.

I'm glad I purchases this bag. It is very deep on the inside and holds all of my gear safely. I'm very thankful it does have the built in lock. The only issue I have it the bag itself is very heavy... I do wish it was a bit lighter. I also wish the outside zip pocket was a little larger (but that is just being picky). It does have an open flap which will easily hold a clipboard, very helpful.

            By PK Maharana

            from Kuala Lumpur

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x100 AW:

I got this bag from BH. I would simply say that this is a superb bag. I could put all my 9 Canon lenses including 70-200, 24-105, 16-35, 135L, 100L, 85L, 50, 40, 35L, my two DSLRS 5D, 60D, my Sony Handy Cam, two flash lights.
It has a nice pouch on front and I would wish it could have a chain for laptop case for added security. The bag can be split for back pack and trolley case should the case arise.
I am 100% satisfied and would recommend to any photographer who would like to keep all his gears in one case.

first of all, I love Lowepro; it is a great value and extremely well made!.

Many of options are available with the velcro separators. The pockets are great for filters and SD cards.

It is very sturdy and great for flying-- the extra pocket for a laptop-- is also a sturdy part of the roller.

The fact that it also has a reserve pack to use as a backpack? means this is my primary camera bag from now on!

cannot say enough about this product!

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x100 AW:

I use a micro 4/3 set up and if I need to travel with all my gear, this is the bag I use. I am able to carry my Olympus EP-5 and Olympus OMD EM-1 as well as the Olympus 12-40mm Pro Lens, Olympus 17mm, Olympus 25mm, Olympus 45mm, Olympus 75mm, my RODE Video Mic as well as a bunch of other accessories (filters, batteries, power cords, etc). It is solidly built, all weather and I like the fact that it is a bag within a bag. It doesn't turn into the greatest backpack, but it gets the job done in a pinch. I think its worth saying that the MaxFit divider system makes setting up this bag much quicker and way less frustrating. I usually curse those velcro dividers.

That being said, there are two gripes I have with this bag, but they are minor in my opinion.

                    1) I can fit my 15" MacBook Pro in the front sleeve, but its a tight fit and it makes the bag front heavy. It tipped over twice at the airport. I solved this issue by putting my laptop in my backpack (where I used to carry it anyway).

                    2) The zippered compartments on the outside and inside of the bag don't hold much. To get the most out of them, store flat items like filters, step up rings, lens caps, etc.
