Comments about Corel VideoStudio Pro X7 Video Editing Software for Windows:

For the past 5 months I've been using and exploring new ways to use this software. And, posting the results on YouTube. This software has a lot of functions, and is great for organizing video projects, editing and rendering video. With a 64bit system, the process is fast. What's great is, the ability to now do 4K DSLR Time-lapse. And, the ability to mix up video, time-lapse, photography, and music all in one production, with different cameras and different formats. Also, it does render to the Standard HD DVD format for playback on a TV with a DVD, as well as saving the projects and/or video to regular DVD in AVCHD format for playback on PS-4 and other computers with a DVD drive. Also, by using the AVCHD format you can pull the files off the DVD to re-edit them, re-use them or mix them in other video projects. Also, the ability to quick edits and compose time-lapse a is great plus for me. Fast and Easy right click to drop in the photos into the timeline, add in FX and/or music, and render clip. Also, it can drop a transition across the entire timeline to every clip with one click. East and fast to render a 500 photo time-lapse into a clip and re-edit or mix that clip with other videos. And for creativity, a bunch of FX to customize clips or videos. What's not so great is, if you try to render a Video that is out of sync, like trying to render a low quality video into a 60fps 4K video, it will process the video until 99 percent, and come up with an error code. Sure it's not possible, but it should come up with an error message before you wait all that time to find out much later your project settings were not set up right. Also, I should have got the Ultimate version for the extra FX plugins. Anyway, this program changed the way I do YouTube videos. From here on it's DSLR 4K Time-Lapse for me. I suggest, if you consider this program, to view the tutorials on YouTube first, so you know what technical level you will need to adapt to this software. It will save you time and frustration. And, if you want to learn basic video editing to improve your videos, and have the patience and willingness to explore and learn, this is a great program to start with.

Comments about Corel VideoStudio Pro X7 Video Editing Software for Windows:

The two main reasons I bought this software, I am unable to do. I am unable to burn a dvd to a format that will play in any cd/dvd player. The default format is a corel format, I have had several back and forth qustions and answers with their customer care tech's, and they have ignored the last two replies. The second issue was with their "screen capture", Their are times I tried to capture a You-Tube video that the screen capture would only get less than ten seconds of the clip, then other times I could get the very same video with out a hitch. After several attempts with a customer care tech. He finally told me their software wasn't designed for You-Tube. I feel this is a cop-out, if it wasn't designed for You-Tube I shouldn't be able to get any at all, much less the same one, one time and not another

Comments about Corel VideoStudio Pro X7 Video Editing Software for Windows:

I use this for short slideshows with video clips. The ability to add and sync music, photos and video clips make slideshows more interesting. This is a fast program. Everything processes fast. It has a lot of functions and filters, and ability to mix and layer multiple video clips. And the white balance tool is pretty accurate. Also, many types of video format to export with. No problems with crashing.

Things that are difficult to work with are: The sliders for color correction, sharpening, and contrast are way to sensitive and difficult to get precision. The sharpening function is way to strong and only has 4 levels of sharpening, 3 are unusable. Also, if you add any filters like pan and zoom, it softens up still image and video quality.

For the money, it's a great value. If you want more Pro functions and precision in editing, it will cost you more. This is good for the home DIY video slideshow people.
